Current MAC members may enroll their nonmember children and grandchildren in camps and classes during the summer for a 25% upcharge fee. For questions regarding a specific camp, contact the staff person listed under each program in this guide.
MAC classes and camps require that the MAC Agreement Release & Waiver of Liability form be completed by parents/guardians to give permission to treat children in the event of a medical emergency. At the time of registration, members are required to consent to the agreement. Members are encouraged to periodically review their children’s profiles and update contact information. To update a child’s profile, log in as them on the website and click “My Profile” from any screen.
Members are waitlisted for a class that has reached maximum enrollment. Waitlisted members receive enrollment priority based on the order in which they waitlisted for the class. Members are notified via email if a spot has opened, and they now are enrolled. Updates to registration status also may be viewed online at themac.com.
Courses that do not meet the minimum threshold of participants by approximately 7 days before the first class are canceled without charge. Registered attendees are notified via email if the course is canceled.
To eliminate confusion for members about the availability of club services and facilities when severe weather is forecasted, the general manager determines club hours and service based on availability of staff and severity of conditions as reported by the National Weather Service. Club closure, delayed opening, or opening with limited services is announced to members at least 4 hours in advance, and by 9 pm for the following day. Weather alerts are posted on themac.com homepage and at all entrances as soon as they are announced.
When Portland Public Schools announces closure, early dismissal, or delayed opening due to weather, MAC Child Care, Playschool, and youth classes are canceled or delayed. Coaches determine if specific sport team practices are canceled and use TeamSnap or Team Unify to notify the teams directly.
Unless otherwise stated for a specific program, general policy regarding camp withdrawal is as follows:
• Withdrawals made by 11:59 pm on Thursday, April 30: No charge
• Withdrawals made on Friday, May 1: 100% of fee charged
• All withdrawal requests subject to a penalty fee must be submitted in writing. The date used for the purpose of assessing the amount of fee charged is the date the club receives written notification.
Confirmed reservations made on or after May 1 are firm, and any cancellations will be assessed 100% of the camp fee.
All junior members, nonmembers, and guests participating in camps are expected to follow club etiquette. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior while participating in club activities. To view the full agreement, which includes expectations and behavior management techniques that are employed by MAC staff, visit themac.com/group/pages/event-and-classes-policies.

My MAC Playschool offers safe, high-quality programs for the club’s youngest members who are 2.5-6 years old.
Keep the joy of learning alive this summer with the engaging Playschool Summer Fun Program! Designed for children ages 2.5–6, this dynamic program features a diverse and inclusive curriculum that supports cognitive, physical, and social development. Each day includes age-appropriate, play-based activities that help children build foundational skills — such as manners, shapes, colors, letters, numbers, and more — while having fun with friends.
Children enjoy arts and crafts, circle time, snack time, and at least 40 minutes of active play each day, either outdoors (weather permitting) or in a designated MAC space. Each week highlights a new and exciting theme involving hands-on learning experiences just like the school-year Playschool program. A light snack is provided daily. Families receive a weekly recap every Friday, showcasing that week’s adventures and offering a preview of what’s coming next! There is an option for early drop-off starting at 8 am. Children have the option to extend their day by enrolling in after-school programming. Capacity: 15-21

The Outdoor program offers recreational adventure camps for all skill levels. Participants must be able to spend a full day active in nature. Basic swimming skills and the ability to tread water are required. If your child needs accommodations, please reach out to the Outdoor department to discuss which offsite camps will best set your child up for success. Please note that activities vary each week depending on permits, vendor availability, weather, etc. Descriptions denote examples of what campers might participate in during their week of camp.
Due to their offsite locations, Outdoor camps meet in the MAC Turnaround 15-20 minutes before their start time, which is the departure time. Please ensure that the email address on file for you and your child is updated to receive important logistical information, waivers, and packing lists for your camper. Missed camps are nonrefundable due to fixed transportation and permitting costs. Juniors return to MAC at the listed end time.
