A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
For over 50 years, Weld Legacy Foundation has supported health and education in Weld County. In 2024, the Weld Legacy Foundation distributed nearly $4.2 million in grants and scholarships to this community. Grants supported include Bright Futures, Monfort Children’s Clinic, Curtis Strong Eye Center, Heart Safe City, patient support grants, and capacity building services for qualified nonprofit organizations.
Supporting the community is possible through donations and fundraising events. Because of these donations, Weld Legacy Foundation is able to continue meaningful work in the community.

Bright Futures is a Weld County workforce initiative designed to strengthen the vitality of the Weld County community. The program supports qualifying Weld County residents who have graduated from a Weld County high school, earned a GED, or honorably discharged veterans attending post-secondary school or certified training program. In the 2023-2024 school year, Bright Futures supported 1,034 students.
MONFORT CHILDREN’S CLINIC - $705,000
The Weld Legacy Foundation awarded the Monfort Children’s Clinic a $705,000 grant to remodel interior areas of the building including patient rooms, waiting rooms, reception area and the nurses’ station. After nearly 30 years of operation and countless pediatric patients it was time for a much-needed upgrade to modernize the clinic.


Each year Monfort Children’s Clinic sees 5,700 unduplicated patients for medical care and over 1,400 for dental care. The clinic serves all children regardless of ability to pay. Most patients seen at the clinic are Medicaid and self-pay, a vulnerable population whose health needs continue to be met.

IN-KIND-GRANT - $148,500
The Monfort Children’s Clinic is owned and supported by Weld Legacy Foundation and operated by Sunrise Community Health. The 15,000-square-foot facility is located at 100 N. 11th Avenue in Greeley. The estimated value of the in-kind yearly rent is $148,500.
BANNER HEALTH NORTH COLORADO MEDICAL CENTER (NCMC) - $419,135
Weld Legacy Foundation has supported various programs and department needs at NCMC through grants since 1975. In 2024, these grants supported equipment at the hospital, the Will Rothman Family Chaplaincy program, remodel for the Rehab Center, SelfCare for HealthCare Program, staff education and department needs as well as the hospice program.
CURTIS STRONG CENTER FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED - $174,550

The Curtis Strong Eye Center, operated by Ensight Skills Center located at 1900 16th St., Greeley, supports people who are visually impaired and helps patients with low vision obtain and use assistive devices.
PATIENT SUPPORT - $173,505
Weld Legacy Foundation has several Patient Support Funds for individuals and families dealing with serious illness and are granted funds to help with costs stemming from treatment including living expenses, burn garments, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, mammograms, and other diagnostic testing.
SCHOLARSHIPS -
$145,569
As part of the ongoing commitment to health and education, the Weld Legacy Foundation awarded scholarships to 35 students and professionals who are pursuing degrees or continuing education in the medical field.
CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES-
$106,614
In 2024, Weld Legacy Foundation provided a variety of capacity building services for Weld County nonprofit organizations focused on health or education initiatives. These services included sponsoring nonprofit convenings and seminars, memberships to the Colorado Nonprofit Association, scholarship assistance to the Aims Community College Nonprofit Leadership Academy, as well as sponsoring community partners to attend leadership conferences.

HEART SAFE CITY - $50,684
The Heart Safe City initiative educates residents about the dangers of sudden cardiac arrest, identifying symptoms, learning how to administer CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). With this fund, Weld Legacy Foundation continues to provide AEDs in public gathering spots throughout Weld County for use in an emergency.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS 2024
35TH ANNUAL WELD LEGACY FOUNDATION GALA
The 35th Annual Weld Legacy Foundation Gala, Glitz, Glam & Gold, presented by Chevron, raised over $325,000 in net proceeds. The proceeds benefited A Woman’s Place Capital Campaign for a new domestic violence shelter. Phase one of the construction doubled the size of the existing safehouse with 16 bedrooms, all of which are ADA accessible; individual bathrooms; a kitchen and dining area; laundry area; a living room area with a technology center; two playrooms; secured outdoor play area; two intake rooms; and increased security.
42ND ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 42nd Annual Weld Legacy Foundation Golf Tournament, held at the Greeley Country Club, raised over $36,000 in net proceeds.
This tournament benefited the Heart Safe City program. Weld Legacy Foundation has supported this program with more than $440,000 since its inception in 2012.
27TH ANNUAL TURKEY TROT

The Weld Legacy Foundation along with the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado at North Colorado Medical Center hosted the 27th Annual Turkey Trot, presented by Chevron.
More than 2,500 runners and walkers participated in the 2K/5K Fun Run/Walk on Thanksgiving Day. The race raised over $56,000 in net proceeds to assist cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients.

PATIENT SUPPORT FUNDRAISING
HUMAN
BEAN - $35,500
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the Human Bean hosts a one-day event called Coffee for a Cure, where 100% of sales are donated to the Breast Cancer Patient Support Fund. This fund supports mammograms, breast cancer education and patient support. Thank you to the Human Bean for their yearly support with this critical fund.
KNIGHTS OF SWALLOWS 34TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT - $28,000

This golf tournament is hosted by a group of oil and gas professionals, known as the Knights of Swallows, raise money to support burn-related care expenses for patients and their families. Thank you for their support for individuals impacted in this community.
GREELEY STAMPEDE/RANACK CARES FOUNDATION - $30,000
The Greeley Stampede through Ranack Cares Foundation raises money during the Stampede’s Tough Enough to Wear Pink night for the Breast Cancer Patient Support fund, we appreciate their ongoing support.

SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED IN 2024
The Weld Legacy Foundation has 14 established scholarship funds to support students and healthcare professionals with their degree, certification or continuing education. In 2024 the Weld Legacy Foundation awarded $145,569 in scholarships.
Mildred S. Hansen Nursing Program Scholarship
(Two-year scholarship covers the cost of in-state tuition and fees, books and living expenses stipend). Awarded to students who are pursuing either a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Nursing Degree, Nurse Practitioner Degree, or other related advanced nursing degrees at the University of Northern Colorado. Nurse Education Tuition Assistance Scholarship ($1,500 per semester for up to five semesters.) It is awarded to students who are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at an accredited nursing program operating in Colorado. Recipients (L to R): Landen Bonnell, Yessica Ramos




Gerald Rennels Nursing Tuition Assistance Scholarship ($2,500 scholarship). It is awarded to a student who is pursuing either a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Nursing Degree, Nurse Practitioner Degree, or other related advanced nursing degrees. The recipient of this scholarship must be a North Colorado Medical Center employee.

Belle Marquand Loustalet Memorial Nursing Scholarship (up to $5,000 scholarship). This annual scholarship is awarded to individuals who have been accepted into an accredited Colorado nursing program with plans to complete an Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Nursing Degree, Nurse Practitioner Degree, or other related advanced nursing degrees.

George A. Coleman and Beverly A. Peratino Nursing Scholarship ($1,000 scholarship). This scholarship is awarded to a student in the Aims Community College Dual Enrollment Nursing Program in conjunction with the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) or enrolled at UNC and seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.

Lily E. Widney Memorial Nursing Scholarship ($1,000 scholarship). It is awarded to an NCMC employee for obtaining an Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. Recipient: Cortlynn Franklin


Henneck Family Scholarship (up to $900). Banner Health NCMC ancillary staff are eligible to apply for this scholarship for continuing education or certification within their field. Ancillary staff include laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy technicians, physical and occupational therapists, care coordinators and social workers, dietary/food nutrition services, environmental services, medical records/HIMS, billing, coding, security, or business associate. Florence Winograd Educational Scholarship ($2,500 to be used for continuing education or approved expenses related to department or patient education). This scholarship recognizes a group of individuals at NCMC who exemplify teamwork. Recipient: Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center at NCMC.
