Q: Why do you refer your guests to The Welcome Guide®, and what makes it an important resource for you?

A: The Welcome Guide® lists all the latest monthly events, and there’s a free map to help you get to wherever you want to go.

Q. What should be on every visitor's "bucket list" when visiting?

A: Watch a Broadway show at any of the 40-plus theaters in Midtown Manhattan. Taking in a musical or play is absolutely a cultural highlight.

Q. What is the best suggestion you can give a first-time visitor?

A: Take one of the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tours—they’re perfect for sightseeing, with stops near all the iconic landmarks.

Q. Where's the best place to take kids of all ages?

A: Central Park! There really is something for everyone in this 843-acre green space, including Central Park Zoo.

Q. If someone only had 24 hours in NYC, where would you send them?

A: Of course, 24 hours isn’t enough! But here’s a plan: Go to the High Line and Hudson Yards; be sure to check out the Vessel and the Edge. Next, ride the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and then head to SoHo for some shopping. In the evening, see a musical or a play on Broadway.

Q. What’s an excellent spot to capture a great selfie?

A: Go to Duffy Square—it’s the northern triangle of Times Square—and take a selfie from the steps.

Q. What is your expert tip?

A: Make sure you have a slice (or two!) of pizza from NY Pizza Suprema or Lazzara and a bagel from Liberty!

From sweet treats and colorful finds to educational journeys and plenty of photo opportunities, there's something for everyone. The city invites visitors to explore creativity of all kinds through numerous unique, sensory-driven attractions. Here are five must-visit immersive experiences in NYC that promise to leave lasting impressions!

Museum of Ice Cream

The Museum of Ice Cream is a delightful—and delicious—spot for the whole family. You may have seen the bright pink interiors and cold treats all over social media, and the reality of a visit is just as sweet.

Visitors can enjoy various exhibits, photo opportunities, and plenty of delicious ice cream samples in multiple rooms (you'll even start your visit with one).

Feeling adventurous? Skip the steps and take a ride down the gigantic pink slide to make a sweet escape from the top floor. Make sure to take a dip in the sprinkle pool before you leave! It’s the perfect way to end a visit to the sweetest museum.

Color Factory

Color Factory is more than just a haven of colors—it's a feast for the senses in more ways than one. Enjoy various samples and treats as you explore rooms dedicated to color and igniting your senses of sight, smell, sound, and touch.

From a silent disco to a dreamy ball pit, complimentary compliments, and so much more, you'll learn along the way (whether you realize it or not), and you'll also get the chance to capture unique memories in the various rooms.

Take advantage of the QR code system and the timed cameras in various rooms to take photos of your visit and have them sent directly to your phone.

TREE LIGHTINGS IN NYC 2024

Museum of Broadway

The Museum of Broadway is the perfect spot to visit if you're a fan of pop culture, whether it be Broadway, film, music, or the arts in general. Explore the world of Broadway from backstage in the dressing rooms to the stage sets and the costumes.

You'll get a look at some of Broadway's most iconic shows, like Phantom of the Opera, and be able to explore photo opportunities that put you right on the set. Check out the wall of Playbills (it's still growing all the time), the crops from Oklahoma! and some of the greatest hits from musical theater all under one roof.

INTER_

INTER_ offers a new look at the immersive experience. While most projection-mapped spaces offer a certain level of immersion, INTER_ encourages interaction at every stop.

Make sure to move around and explore the space—especially when taking in the various elements (earth, fire, air, and water) of the INTERverse in the first main room.

If you're carrying bags, make use of the free locker rentals to free up your hands and arms to interact as fully as possible and allow yourself to move freely.

Mercer Labs

Mercer Labs is a cutting-edge innovation hub exploring the limits of reality and technology. The museum offers 15 interactive spaces that immerse visitors in different ways. The experience blends art and technology in unique ways, and each room offers a completely different vibe.

From soft pink florals to golden robots and massive projection screens, Mercer Labs explores the limits of reality in a fun and interactive way. The museum offers day and "after dark" experiences, so make sure to visit during both times for a fully rounded immersion.

Broadway Guide Insider:

of the city’s notable locals are also the stars of Broadway. We talked with Pepe Muñoz, who stars as Santiago in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, about his favorite places in New York City.

Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The character is from Argentina, and he is one of the show’s three Bohemians, who embody the Bohemian ideals of Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and Love. Santiago is the choreographer of the show within the show and lives life at 100% at all times.

How did you get your start in performing, and in what other shows have you performed?

Muñoz- I had a wonderful teacher back in high school in Spain, Ana, who taught me the love for performing arts and always saw something in me. After a few years of training, I joined the

Spanish company of Cats, then I was a swing in Cats and Dirty Dancing in Germany. I also performed in the ensemble of the West End Production of the musical CHICAGO and in Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity in Las Vegas. Prior to joining the Broadway company, I was a swing in the Moulin Rouge! US National Tour for a year and a half.

What was the one NYC lesson you learned shortly after arriving in the Big Apple?

Muñoz- Oh boy! So many! Walk fast! Even if you think you are walking fast … go faster! Hahaha

What are the best tips you can give a visitor?

Muñoz- Don’t plan every second of your visit! New York is full of beautiful hidden secrets that you’ll only find if you get lost in the best possible way and stumble upon them.

What is your favorite meal to enjoy in NYC, and where is it best?

Muñoz- ROKC Ramen in Harlem on Broadway and 141st!

Where are your favorite spots to send family and friends when they visit?

Muñoz- I love taking friends and family to the Upper West Side and walking towards Central Park. I also love SoHo, and I’m a big fan of The High Line and Little Island. It’s a great view of Downtown Manhattan down there. Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Center is also one of my favorite spots to see the city from above.

What do you love best about New York City?

Muñoz- No matter how long you have lived here or how much you plan your day, the moment you leave your apartment in the morning, you never know where the day will take you! I love being surprised, and I’m constantly amazed by the endless possibilities and adventures this city (and its people) has to offer!
