The Breakers Mediterranean Courtyard

Progress at The Breakers Mediterranean Courtyard continues to build as the transformation moves closer to completion During the last quarter, the team completed the loggias and decorative finishes, while the removal of lobby protection enhanced the guest experience by giving visitors a clear view of the work underway.

This quarter, decorative tile installation throughout the courtyard was completed, and the project reached a major milestone by becoming weather-tight with all structural steel erected and the decorative glass roof, doors, and windows from Italy now in place Landscaping remains underway as crews continue conservatory

The Breakers Family Entertainment Center

Work is underway at The Breakers Family Entertainment Center as the team has officially mobilized and begun cut-and-cap operations on existing utilities in preparation for demolition of the current building

Crews are also actively relocating site utilities, including electrical and sanitary systems, to move infrastructure out of the footprint of the new building over the coming weeks as the project continues to advance.

Shell Point - Vista Cay

Construction on Shell Point Tower One continues to advance across the building envelope, unit interiors, and sitework. Exterior masonry has progressed through Level 12, while stucco installation continues along the balconies and the east elevation of the tower. Interior work remains active with framing and MEPF rough-ins underway on Levels 11 and 12 Drywall hanging has progressed through Levels 6 and 7 with work continuing upward The resident units are also underway

Sitework remains active, including installation of underground chilled water piping, construction of retaining walls, and concrete placement in the north promenade area. Underground utilities are also being positioned to support HVAC startup once permanent power is established.

Florida Power & Light (FPL) has been released to schedule installation of the primary transformers, a key project milestone. Energization of permanent power remains a critical path activity that will drive HVAC startup and continued interior finish progress. The project remains on track for completion in Spring 2027.

Shell Point - Island Commons

In March 2026, Weitz celebrated the topping out of the Shell Point Island Commons project, marking a major construction milestone

Since then, the remaining structural components, including light-gauge metal trusses and structural steel roof overhangs that give both buildings their signature look, have been installed. Roof assemblies are now complete on the Island Commons building, and installation of the project’s unique bullet-resistant window system is underway, marking an important step toward drying in the building

Inside the building, progress continues with MEPF installation underway on the third and fourth floors and fourth-floor framing nearing completion. Across the site, underground utilities along the new roadway have been installed, with sidewalks, curbs, and gutters now in progress in preparation for opening the roadway to public use later this year. The project remains on track for completion in Spring 2027.

The Waterford- Phase 1

Last quarter, Phase One within the ILCD portion was in the drying-in stage, with interior MEP rough-ins maintaining steady momentum on site.

The Waterford- Phase 2

At the end of this quarter, the Weitz team executed a GMP agreement with Lifespace Communities for Phase Two of The Waterford in Juno Beach, marking an important milestone for the project.

Demolition activities for this phase began in late April, launching the next stage of work on site. Infrastructure work is scheduled to begin upon receipt of permits, with all building permits currently submitted and under review The team continues to coordinate closely to maintain momentum as Phase Two advances

John’s Island Club

Following the planned first-quarter start, work at John’s Island is now actively underway across multiple areas Construction of the new three-story parking garage has progressed into the foundation phase, with initial pours complete and precast erection scheduled to begin in mid-May.

At the clubhouse, renovations are in progress as the team advances selective demolition while continuing subcontracting efforts and material procurement Overall, the project is moving forward as planned, with the garage targeting substantial completion in October 2026 and clubhouse renovations anticipated to be complete

Christ Fellowship West Boca

Following the start of demolition and site mobilization last quarter, work at Christ Fellowship West Boca has progressed into vertical construction. The pre-engineered metal building is currently being erected as planned, with foundation concrete on track for completion in May.

Framing and MEP rough-ins are scheduled to begin later this month, marking the next phase of on-site progress. and is tracking toward substantial completion in December

Broward County Courthouse Parking Garage

The Weitz Company Served as Owners Represenative on this project.

Over the past quarter, progress continues on the new 500-space Parking Garage and Plaza project for the Broward County Courthouse. Abatement activities are currently underway in the existing old buildings , with substantial completion of this phase anticipated by the end of July. Interior demolition has been completed, and exterior demolition will begin following the completion of abatement work

In preparation for construction, the future six-story parking structure is currently undergoing Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination and development.

Broward County Convention Ce q

The Weitz Company Served as Owners Represenative on this project.

During the last quarter, the Broward County Convention Center Expansion and Headquarters Hotel Project achieved several key milestones The East Convention Center reached Substantial Completion, and the new buildout and addition of 1,200,000 square feet is now actively in use

The Convention Center Visitor’s Bureau’s new 24,000-square-foot office building is now occupied, including the completion of a custom DVLED Video Wall spanning 53.31 feet in length and 11.48 feet in height. The wraparound video wall provides the Convention Center with the ability to advertise upcoming and current events

The 7.5-acre Plaza was also completed, providing residents and visitors with an open-air green space overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and nearby Port Everglades cruise terminals.

Operations

We’ve had a busy first quarte hard work that pre-construction has been putting in over the past four months is paying off with multiple projects moving from pre-construction into construction

Notable conversions are the Waterford stage 2, a senior living project in Juno Beach, Johns Island club renovations and parking garage in Vero, and multiple projects at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach including another round of room renovations, renovations to the Flagler Steakhouse and golf clubhouse, and enabling work for the forthcoming Family Entertainment Center.

With all of these projects starting up, we need to focus on planning the work and working the plan. From safety planning for the overall project and daily work planning, to milestone, weekly, and daily activity planning, to financial planning and risk mitigation, they all work together to make us successful. This is a good time to dust off your Last Planner training and make sure we hit the ground running!

And speaking of training, this year also kicked off with a renewed focus on operations training, and a big thank you goes out to Erik Bernal for getting these meetings scheduled and on track. I encourage everyone to make time for these meetings and take advantage of all the great resources the company has to offer. The more we know, the better we are!

I’m looking forward to another great year and getting shovels in the ground.

Preconstruction

The Preconstruction and Estimating team continue to work extremely hard across a wide range of projects. The Waterford Phase

2 GMP has been accepted, and the contract is officially signed great work to everyone involved in the preconstruction effort

We are also pleased to announce that Preconstruction efforts in Florida are now being led by our new Preconstruction Director, Jeff Claeys, with Bill Bauer serving as our Chief Estimator / Estimating Manager This seasoned leadership team further strengthens our capabilities and supports our continued growth trajectory.

The team is currently finalizing the Breakers Demolition, Breakers Enabling, and Breakers Family Entertainment Center (FEC), with the goal of completing by the end of May Once finalized, the GMP will be presented to the Owner for signature, allowing the Breakers project to officially move forward.

The Kravis Center MEP GMP has been submitted and is currently awaiting Owner approval so work can begin.

Current active pursuits include the Palm Beach County Courtrooms Renovation, Breakers Golf and Tennis, and The Ranch Irrigation Pump House.

The Preconstruction team continues to collaborate closely with Business Development on both current and future opportunities. This unified approach strengthens our overall efforts and is driving strong momentum in 2026, which is shaping up to be a successful year Our continued investment in future opportunities supported by crossdepartment collaboration positions us for longterm growth.

Safety Business Developmen

We continue to strengthen our business development efforts through a strategic, integrated approach that combines targeted outreach with impactful marketing to expand brand awareness and support sustainable growth.

We are pleased to welcome Marilin Guerrero Casas to our team as our new Business Development Coordinator, who is already making meaningful contributions to these efforts.

While economic conditions remain generally favorable, competition across our markets is strong making it critical to clearly communicate what differentiates The Weitz Company: our legacy of excellence, quality, competitive pricing, safety, core values, diverse experience, strong local trade contractor relationships, and client focused approach

Our strategy focuses on engaging new and existing clients while actively identifying and pursuing projects that showcase our capabilities as a DesignBuild partner or Construction Manager. Additionally, we are making efforts to strengthen our trade partner relationships, participate in select industry events, including target advertising to reinforce our brand presence and expertise.

Business development is a shared responsibility across our organization From project leadership to teams in the field, daily interactions with owners, consultants, and trade partners often generate valuable insights into future opportunities entering our pipeline.

We appreciate your continued engagement and input along with welcoming client endorsements, introductions, insights, and success stories in the ongoing process of positioning the company for future growth.

During this quarter, the Weitz Florida Safety Committee recognized the Shell Point Commons project team for outstanding safety performance in March, and the Christ Fellowship Boca Raton team for April 2026. Congratulations to both teams for their continued commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture on site.

In March, Keith Harkins and Hernando Cervantes represented Weitz at the ICA – Interactive Community Alliance International Symposium in Miami. Hernando participated as a panel speaker, while Keith served as a panel moderator, contributing to discussions focused on well-being and the future of work During the event, they accepted the International Award for Occupational Risk Prevention “PREVER 2025” on behalf of The Weitz Company, recognizing the organization’s leadership and commitment to safety.

In the first week of May, Weitz kicked off Construction Safety Week, centered around the theme “All In Together” and built on three key pillars: Recognize, Respond, and Respect. The week served as a strong reminder that safety is a shared responsibility

While the industry continues to make progress, serious incidents still occur reinforcing the importance of identifying risks early, modeling safe behaviors, and speaking up to protect one another on every job site

PeggyAdam’s Animal Rescue

This quarter, some of our team members volunteered at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, where they supported the organization’s pantry program. The team worked together to pack 243 bags of dog food, helping provide resources to families who need a little extra support caring for their pets. The group also toured the facility and spent time with one of the rescue pups, offering a firsthand look at the impact the organization has on the community.

March for Babies

Some of our team members also participated in March for Babies, a walk hosted by March of Dimes that supports the health of moms and babies. The event raises awareness and funding for programs focused on preventing premature birth and improving outcomes for families. Our team was proud to join the community in support of this meaningful cause and help make a difference for moms and babies everywhere.

Employee Appreciation Day

For Employee Appreciation Day, the Weitz Florida office team headed to PopStroke for an afternoon of putt-putt golf, games, and time together outside the office. The team was able to enjoy a little friendly competition along with drinks and food, creating a relaxed setting to connect and unwind. It was a great opportunity to recognize and celebrate all that our employees do every day and to show appreciation for their continued hard work and contributions.
