PROJECTS IN PROGRESS
The Breakers Mediterranean Courtyard The project recently reached a major milestone with all foundation work completed, allowing the contractor to proceed with structural steel. Underground utility rough-ins throughout the courtyard are ongoing in preparation for paver installation in the coming weeks. The team is also tracking a critical milestone to turn over the north and south loggias within the month and is preparing the west lobby for window delivery following the New Year.
The Waterford Phase 1 work within the ILCD portion is currently drying in rough, with interior MEP rough-ins underway and scheduled for completion in June 2026. Phase 2 is advancing through GMP pricing, which will be submitted to the client in mid-January 2026. On the client’s behalf, the team has applied for the building permit, with demolition scheduled to begin in February 2026 and new building construction anticipated to start in April 2026.
Christ Fellowship - West Boca Demolition is officially underway at Christ Fellowship West Boca. The building permit has been received, the project team is mobilizing, and the on-site trailer has been set, marking the start of active construction operations
PROJECTS IN PROGRESS
John’s Island Club Work is scheduled to begin in Q1 with the start of a new three-story parking garage, marking the first phase of improvements at Johns Island. Following the garage, a complete renovation of the clubhouse lower level will begin after Easter, including 2 lower-level kitchens, complete gut and renovation of locker rooms, and updates to office facilities, along with exterior upgrades featuring impact-rated windows. Renovations to the tennis facility and courts will follow later in the year, with all work currently scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
Shell Point - Vista Cay Weitz recently marked the topping out of Shell Point Tower One – Vista Cay, a 14-story Independent Living tower at the Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers. As the first project to break ground under Shell Point’s multiphase master plan, this milestone reflects strong progress by the team. Construction remains on track toward an anticipated April 2027 completion.
Shell Point - Island Commons Construction continues to progress steadily at Island Commons, with the garage advancing through Level 2 and moving into Level 3. Framing is underway on Level 1 of the guest house, a key building featuring branching hotel-style rooms. BMI coordination has been completed, and the team is currently working through minor field adjustments to maintain momentum.
DEPARTMENT UPDATES
Business Development We are strengthening our business development efforts in this territory through a strategic, integrated approach that combines targeted outreach with impactful marketing to expand brand awareness and drive sustainable growth. We’re excited to welcome John Finamore, Director of Business Development, and Kaylinn Bowser, Marketing & Proposal Coordinator, who join Brianna Walker, Senior Marketing & Proposal Associate, to advance these initiatives. With a competitive market despite positive economic indicators, it’s critical to clearly communicate what sets us apart—our legacy of excellence, quality, competitive pricing, core values, diverse experience, and client-focused approach. Our strategy includes engaging new and existing clients, strengthening trade partner relationships, participating in select industry events, and implementing targeted advertising to enhance visibility. Marketing and Business Development will continue collaborating closely with Estimating, Operations, and other teams to ensure alignment and impact. We welcome your suggestions, project owner insights, and introductions as we continue positioning ourselves for future growth.
Estimating The Estimating team secured two notable wins in Q4 with the Johns Island Parking Garage and the Breakers Family Entertainment Center, setting the stage for a strong start to 2026. Heading into Q1, the pipeline remains active with several high-probability opportunities anticipated to move forward, including Waterford, the Johns Island Tennis Complex, Palm Beach County Courtrooms, multiple Breakers projects—Golf and Tennis, South Towers, and Enabling—as well as work at the Kravis Center. With several of these pursuits targeting early- to mid-2026 starts, the team is well positioned for continued momentum as the new year begins
DEPARTMENT UPDATES
Operations Looking back at 2025, one word comes to mind—resiliency. As a business unit, we overcame challenges, got to know new employees, and adapted to changes in our world as a business; and with all of that, ended the year successful, profitable, and ready to tackle what’s next. I’m excited for 2026, as we have some very unique projects coming online that will provide fantastic opportunities for our people to learn and grow, many of which are with repeat clients that share our culture and values, including John’s Island, The Breakers, Christ Fellowship, Waterford, and Shell Point. We currently have over $130 million of committed projects being finalized in preconstruction, all with projected start dates within the first half of the year—very exciting. While finding and hiring great employees continues to be a challenge across the industry, we have hired some fantastic people recently and are always looking for more to support upcoming work. I would encourage everyone to be on the lookout for future Weitz employees. If you know somebody that you think would be a valuable addition to the team, please let us know. We are on track to far exceed the volume of work completed in 2025, and the future is bright as we look forward to a strong 2026 and beyond. Bring on 2026…we got this!
Safety During the fourth quarter, Weitz’s commitment to safety was recognized by the AGC Florida East Coast Chapter with four AGC Safety Awards. These honors included recognition for Excellent Safety Record – 2024 and Innovative Safety Practices, as well as individual awards for Juan Venegas (Worker Safety Award of Excellence) and Patrick Thomas (Individual Safety Effort of a Superintendent Award). Together, these achievements reflect Weitz’s commitment to Lead with Safety and highlight the dedication and leadership of our field teams in keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do.
EVENTS RECAP

The evening reinforced the strong sense of community that makes the Weitz family so special. Everyone enjoyed good food, great company, and a chance to connect during the holiday season.
Weitz Florida Holiday Party Colleagues, family, and friends came together for a night of celebration at this year’s Weitz Florida 2025 Holiday Party, hosted at The Ray in Delray Beach. The evening was filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and plenty of laughter. A highlight of the night was our raffle, where a few lucky winners took home gift baskets, wreaths, and gift cards. A very special night to cap off a memorable year with the team.
