The Accommodation & Reservations Wanaka Volunteer Crew is growing, but we still need dozens more volunteers so sign up today and be part of New Zealand’s largest triathlon festival.

Volunteering is hugely rewarding and great fun – you’ll meet some amazing people and learn new skills. Plus there’s our famous volunteer party to enjoy! We have heaps of different roles available including handing out supplies at aid stations around the course, directing traffic and helping athletes in the transition areas. And it’s not just on race day – we need people to help set up and take down the race infrastructure before and after the main event, and assist with other events including the Radio Wanaka 5km Fun Run/Walk and the Puzzling World Junior Challenge Wanaka in the days prior. Whatever time you can give – even a few hours – and however you’d like to help, we’d love to have you on board! Volunteers are the heart and soul of Challenge Wanaka. Competitors are always blown away by the support and effort of our local community and leave raving about how amazing you are.

Several people were taken into custody for detox as well. We arrested one driver for driving while suspended.
