THE UPPER CLUTHA CHILDREN’S MEDICAL TRUST is holding an incredible Champagne Vintage Brunch On Wednesday 13th May at Corbridge Downs. The trust was formed in 2009 with the purpose of supporting local families who are experiencing financial hardships because of illness of their child. To this extent we have helped many families. Our money is raised from grants, donations and fund raising events with the support of the wonderfully generous Wanaka people. At the brunch will be featured vintage clothing from the Hilaire Field Collection from Auckland and parades of the most glamorous evening gowns ever seen in Wanaka. There will also be a parade of wedding gowns from the 30’s onwards, with a surprise finale.
Champagne, fine foods, live music, beautiful garments, mystery boxes and more in a brilliant setting. Two of these people are now off to Queenstown to explain themselves to the judge. Of note is the fact that all six were locals and obviously making poor decisions. A motorcyclist broke his leg after crashing his Harley Davidson on the Lake Hawea - Albert Town Road, he was also issued an infringement notice for excess breath alcohol. Let’s hope this was an innocent mistake and someone has it in safe keeping to be returned. Over the weekend a young Dunedin man was arrested for disorder after he was refused entry to a local bar. People need to remember it is no longer acceptable to be intoxicated in bars and anyone who is, will be asked WR OHDYH DQG UHIXVHG HQWU\ %DUV IDFH ODUJH ¿QHV DQG suspended trading hours if intoxicated persons are located in their establishments. A vehicle was located in the Dunmore St carpark with its doors wide open. On inspection a knife and a useable amount of cannabis was found on the dashboard. This vehicle appeared to belong to an overseas tourist. A note was left asking them to contact police if they wanted to claim ownership. Strangely enough we are still waiting.
