WA NA K A C O M M U N I T Y H O U S E P L A N S Concept plans have been well supported by potential tenants from the social service and arts sectors and are now presented for public comment. The team at Sarah Scott Architects have designed the new building concept which fits in harmoniously alongside the Anglican Church. The design encompasses several offices and meeting rooms, a shared reception area and a larger auditorium space that can be divided for multipurpose use. What is a Community House? A Community House is a one-stop-shop for the local community. It offers meeting rooms, social support services, and office and administrative space in a cooperative and supportive environment. A Community House promotes positive social wellbeing for all who live in our area. As the Upper
Clutha region expands, there will be a greater need for integrated social services and a centralised community hub. Fundraising: The next undertaking for the Trust is to raise the estimated $2.8 million for the project. More accurate costs will be available when further detailed drawings are completed and resource consent is obtained. Any contributions in this area are greatly received!
