The 3rd Annual Trail Ride is set to take place on Sunday the 23rd of April, with up to 500 trail bike riders of all ages and abilities from across the South Island expected to take part in this family friendly event. This joint fundraiser for Wanaka Primary School and Montessori Children’s House Wanaka raised $28,000 last year. Funds this year will be used to enhance the children’s outdoor area at the Montessori and develop the ‘Fit-Trail’ outdoor activity circuit at the Primary School.

The event provides riders an exclusive opportunity to access privately owned stunning hill-country near Tarras, with Deep Creek, Long Gully and Lindis Peak Stations kindly allowing access to riders. The trail ride could not happen each year without a dedicated team of volunteers from the community. A range of volunteering roles are available now and trail bike knowledge is not necessary.
