Photo: Alpine Image Company - Anna Allan Clear your schedule for Wanaka’s premier creative event, Wanaka Wearable Creations Show 2016 Thursday 27th, Friday 28th and Saturday the 29th October, 8pm at the Lake Wanaka Centre. This is the first year since the biennial show started in 2002 that the show will officially operate as a charitable trust. A special thanks to Andrew Lovelock from Galloway Cook Adam Lawyer who completed this process. The trust has five trustees: Andrew Lovelock, Grenville Craig, Tracey Gibson, Sarah Shore and Anna Mackay. Proceeds from this year’s show will go to “Hands on Art in the Community”. The team are positively brimming with anticipation for this year’s show, hosted by Sandy Hazledine, set over three successive evenings, and promising unbridled creativity and visual delight. The 2016 line up features twenty-four individual
artists from around the district. Each artist has crafted using a mixed medium of three-dimensional treasures. Creations are individually choreographed to technical light and music, and in some cases multiple models perform together, adding collective splendour. The event will be opened by a performanceOpen from local dancers, lead by Amy Jolly.
