This Friday 26th August, the Cancer Society will be celebrating its 26th Daffodil Day, a nation-wide, one day annual Appeal, where everyone in the community comes together to support those individuals, and families who are affected by cancer. Last year the lovely ladies out at the airport, Warbirds & Wheels Cafe, Amanda Barrow & Megan Sorensen, are shown getting into the spirit of what Daffodil Day is all about. This year, Wanaka’s wonderful volunteers will again be situated at the various tables around the township: Mitre 10, The Hammer & Nail Cafe, The Doughbin Bakery, New World, the Post Office, and Paper Plus.

Come along and say hello, they will have bunches of bright fresh daffodils for you, as will Warbirds & Wheels Cafe and Sailz Lake Hawea Store. Visit Daffodil Day’s Principal Sponsor, the ANZ Bank on Ardmore Street, where the Ladies Lions will be cooking pikelets with jam and cream, this Thursday and Friday, so get your orders in quickly.
