The Leo Club program gives young people the opportunity to serve their communities, develop leadership skills, make new friends and have fun. Lions help cultivate The Leos into our next generation of leaders. The Wanaka Leo Club last year raised $2500 to fund the community bench seat outside the Lake Wanaka Centre. 6 Leos recently took part in the Cromwell Relay for Life, a fundraiser for Cancer Research. Through their efforts, $700 was donated to this very important cause. The Leos also take part in Keeping NZ Clean, a community Christmas tree competition, collecting can tabs for Kidney Kids Foundation and sorting old and foreign coins for Heads Up for Kids. Last October they also took part in the

10-10-10 walk, which was a sponsored walk to raise money for the Child Mobility Foundation. Next week the Leos will help the Wanaka & District Lions serve morning tea after the Anzac Parade and later in May will help the Wanaka Upper Clutha Lions with a cheese roll project.

12 – 4pm daily.

The Wanaka Leo members feel very strongly that all children in the world should have fresh water to drink and wash in, so their 2016 project is to supply a pump and filters to Mkak Primary School in Cambodia, thus giving some children the chance to enjoy fresh water.
