The NZ Mountain Film & Book Festival opens this Friday 28 June for six amazing days in Wanaka. Local Wanaka people and places shine in this years programme and the Charitable Trust gives back to the community that has supported the event for 17 years. The festival offers two free family shows at Edgewater and the local schools attend a special free schools event; both events aim to inspire local kids to get out into the outdoors. The session features some of the best short films in the programme. During the festival, a silent auction raises money for the Adventure Grant Scheme. Generous local businesses donate items for auction and much of the funds raised return back into the community supporting
programmes such as Kahu Youth, Te Kakano, Makarora Trapping and equipment to support those with disabilities.
