On Saturday, the Pelham Historical Society unveiled a new plaque in front of town hall honouring Dexter D’Everado, a man who has been called ‘the Founder of Fonthill. Born in 1814, D’Everado was an intelligent and accomplished man, who held a number of important local positions throughout his life, including Registrar of Deeds and Registrar of the Surrogate Court. He was also the Clerk of the Municipal Council of the County of Welland.

Mayor Augustyn addresses a small crowd that gathered for the unveiling of Dexter D’Everado’s plaque while D’Everado himself (David Hulley and daughter Katharyn) look on.
