before 5 PM, after a man working on the property noticed smoke billowing from the hay mow. The barn belonged to Greenview Farms owner Terry Yungblut. Alerted to the growing fire, he rushed to the burning building from a nearby field where he had been working. He
and several others immediately began working to release the 90 or so head of cattle trapped in the barn. Unfortunately, the fire grew quickly amid the highly flammable hay and straw that filled the upper level of the barn, and the smoke and heat soon forced everyone out. While
