Lafarge bringing activities, safety and trucks BY SARAH MURRELL VOICE Staff With a continued focus on safety and a desire to be involved with community events, Lafarge Fonthill has become a Gold sponsor of Summerfest this year. Lafarge made a $2,500 donation to become sponsors of the Active Zone during the Summerfest street festival in July of this year. The Active Zone is designed to promote an active lifestyle for all ages. It includes activities by Pelham Basketball, Little Kickers, Pelham Minor Hockey, Freewheelers, the Bruce Trail Club and Pelham Active Transportation Committee. The zone also features a bike rodeo, Nordic walking, Zumba challenge, hula hoops, skipping, hackey sack and other activities. As sponsor of the Active Zone, Lafarge will have two trucks at the event on Saturday, July 21 for a “touch a truck” activity.

LAFARGE Fonthill’s Chris Galaway, land manager, and Vince Forbes, plant manager, present a cheque for $2,500 to Bea Clark, member of Pelham’s Summerfest Committee.
