Gordon & Mary

Wincanton Kebab & Pizza House. Artist collaboration Gordon & Mary have opened their new art and design gallery on Market Place in Wincanton. The gallery exhibits original artworks, handmade lamps and specially selected period furniture as well as a range of homeware gifts, all designed by the artist.

Gordon & Mary met during their postgraduate studies at The Royal College of Art where they specialized in painting. Since then they have continued their practice in art, working together and individually. As solo artists they have gained many successes, amongst which include a mural commission for The Barbican Centre in London, finalist at The John Moore's Painting Prize in Manchester and exhibiting at The Venice Biennale. Their work is held in both private and public collections in the UK and abroad.

After finishing their studies, while continuing to create paintings they developed an interest in the field of design, forming a business in London, which has now relocated in Wincanton. Their early design work focused on the production of unique fine bone china patterns and amongst the interior range of products at Gordon & Mary the artists are launching a limited edition range of fine bone china tableware with an aquatic theme.

Working with UK manufacturers is essential to the artist's practice and they are delighted that their new range of tableware is being made in the historic ‘Potteries’ of Stoke-onTrent. It will be available for sale in the gallery from mid July.

Gordon & Mary is open Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm.
