WORLD’S TOUGHEST DELINEATION POST PREMIER ROADSIDE ALL STEEL FLEXIBLE GUIDE POST Steel-Flex® is the most durable roadside delineator post available. It is roll formed from a special grade of high-performance spring steel, then protected by an ArmorGalv® thermal diffusion galvanised coating. Each post is then powder coated to provide a high gloss, UV resistant colour finish. Steel-Flex® is available in a wide range of colours and can be fitted with any delineation you require. Its unique design and manufacturing process gives Steel-Flex® exceptionally high corrosion resistance, even after being impacted. It is also available as a bolt down surface mount or drivable spike 2-piece system. Steel-Flex® is guaranteed for up to 10 years and will last a lot longer in most applications. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
DEFINITION Delnorth Steel-Flex® is a patented flexible steel delineator post. Steel-Flex® may be driven into the ground or road base using a Delnorth designed manual or mechanical driving device. SteelFlex® is capable of withstanding repeated impacts and wheel overs by vehicles with minimal damage to the post or vehicle. Steel-Flex® roadside delineator posts comply with: M.A.S.H (3-71 and 3-72 tests). British & European Standard E N 12899 – 3:2008 & Australian Standard AS 1742.2 and AS/NZ 1906.1 DURABILITY Steel-Flex® can retain a minimum of 75% of colour, appearance and physical properties for 10 years even when exposed to extreme weather conditions. They are fire resistant and the powder coating can withstand temperatures of up to 140°C. WIND DEFLECTION Steel-Flex® flexible steel delineator posts stand vertical when installed. Testing has shown that the post will not deflect more than 35mm when subjected to wind speeds of 45m / sec. (162kph/100mph) on the front face (convex surface) of the post. BENDING PROPERTIES The load required to bend each post length of 1000mm long to an angle of 90° should not be less than 30N. It only requires 5kg pressure to bend a Steel-Flex® post. IMPACT AND WHEEL – OVER RESISTANCE Steel-Flex® delineator posts return to vertical automatically after repeated vehicle impacts. They have been tested to 10 impacts from a passenger type vehicle at
100 kph without compromising the integrity of the post. It has been tested to ten wheel over’s at 50kph/31mph from a fully laden 42 tonne truck without compromising the integrity of the post. WEATHERING RESISTANCE Steel-Flex® has been tested to comply with the following standards: Impact Resistance (ASTM D – 2794) Adhesion (ISO 2815) 2000 hr Salt Spray (ASTM B – 117) FINISH & COLOUR All faces of the Steel-Flex® delineator posts are a smooth gloss white powder coat finish to a minimum thickness of 70 microns over a ArmorGalv® thermal diffusion anti-corrosive protective coating. FLAME RESISTANCE Steel-Flex® is non-flammable MARKING The manufacturer’s name and the month/year date of manufacture with minimum 1 cm high characters, are applied to the concave surface of the post. The recommended installation depth is marked by a 12mm diameter hole punched into the post 40cm from the lower pointed edge. Reflective sheeting is applied to conform with the relevant specifications. POST ANCHORAGE One piece Steel-Flex® delineator posts are driven into the ground or road base to a minimum depth of 400mm. Dual retention barbs assist to provide post stability, correct alignment and resistance to unlawful removal by hand. Testing has shown, that when installed correctly in average ground conditions, there is a force
of over 500kg required to remove the post from the ground. To maximise the life of the post, it is recommended that a small V shape divot approximately 100mm deep x 100mm long x 105 mm wide, be removed to provide a bend radius when there is a direct wheel-over by a vehicle. This void may be filled with sand if required. Installation instruction sheets are included. DELINEATORS Steel-Flex® posts can be fitted with all available types of Guide Post delineators and Marker Post stickers complying with AS 1906.1. The posts can be driven in with delineators or stickers attached. TESTING Steel-Flex® posts have been test conditioned for 2 hours at temperature extremes of -10°C/14°F and +60°C/140°F. HEAT RESISTANCE TEST Result of Steel-Flex® Heat Resistant Test = Pass (1 second each bend) COLD RESISTANCE TEST Result of Steel-Flex® Cold Resistant Test = Pass (1 second each bend) The Steel-Flex® post has been conditioned for 2 hours at -10°C/14°F and no signs of splitting or fracturing when a steel ball at 1kg was dropped from a height of 1500mm. STEEL BALL TEST Result of Steel-Flex® Steel Ball Test = Pass (1 second each bend).

STEEL-FLEX® FLEXI-T HIGHLY DURABLE ROADSIDE POSTS RECOMMENDED FOR BITUMEN SURFACES AND EXTREMELY HARD GROUND Steel-Flex® Flexi-T is a highly durable, impact resistant and low maintenance solution for road edge delineation. The Steel-Flex® Flexi-T is designed for installation into bitumen surfaces and extremely hard ground. The two-piece Flexi-T comes complete with a 400mm galvanised steel ground spike and a Steel-Flex® post fitted to a black flexible polyurethane hinge. These two components securely lock into each other for long term road edge delineation. The ground spike provides a secure and corrosion proof post base that has minimal impact on the integrity of a bitumen surface when driven in. Installation can be completed manually or via a petrol driver fitted with our specifically engineered driving kit (highly recommended for efficiency and safety benefits). Attaching the two components takes seconds. Simply slide the Flexi-T hinge/post onto the drivable spike base and insert the locking pin provided. The Steel-Flex® Flexi-T can be used for various road side delineation including road edge guide posts, marker posts and sign posts and is suited to both permanent and temporary applications. STEEL-FLEX® SURFACE MOUNT SAFE, COST EFFECTIVE ROADSIDE SIGN POST SOLUTION Steel-Flex® Surface Mount is a durable, impact resistant and low maintenance solution for road edge delineation needs. Designed for installation on concrete surfaces, the 0.6kg polyurethane base comes complete with a Steel-Flex® post secured with anti-vandal fasteners. Steel-Flex® Surface Mount products are installed on to concrete using 2 x D14S galvanised fastener assemblies as pictured below and on page 31. The robust and safe range is available in various configurations and colours to meet your requirements, including applications as a flexible sign post. Lane-Flex® has a range of fastening methods to suit any application.
BASES TO SUIT LANE-FLEX® BOLLARDS Snap-lok removable base Complete with ground socket and cap, Lane-Flex® Snap-Lok is best used to delineate temporary but frequent traffic flow lane changes.
Bolt down option Bolt down Lane-Flex® is best for permanent or long-term use, especially into concrete.
Glue down base option Glue down bases are the perfect solution when applying Lane-Flex® to bitumen or concrete using adhesive butyl pads or a suitable epoxy.
Drivable spike (star picket) The star picket Lane-Flex® option is great for quick and easy installation through bitumen for long-term or temporary use.

LANE-FLEX® PRO The Lane-Flex® Pro range of removable bollards has been designed for road authorities and their contractors to enhance safe and uninterrupted traffic flow in positions that continually change direction in and across lanes. The Lane-Flex® Pro are also used to define highway crossovers and ‘no-go’ buffer zones. Lane-Flex® Pro are deformable bollards that have a spur to fit into a new or existing ground sleeve or socket. They are available in either 450mm or 850mm height with a tube diameter of 100mm OD – meeting EU regulations. OPTIONS:
Full customisation using Lane-Flex® colours white, black, green, blue, red, lime and grey is available upon request.
The Lane-Flex® Pro – is designed for highway crossovers and buffer zones and is a deformable bollard that indicates a ‘no-go’ area and can be safely driven over as necessary by emergency or law enforcement vehicles. The Lane-Flex® Pro HD – the heavy duty model is designed for situations where bollards are likely to be struck often and attract wheelovers by buses and trucks due to narrow lanes and a winding road. Both options are designed to be readily removed from one set of sockets and reinserted in the outlets on the other edge of the lane allowing for a quick change in traffic flow, suiting peak and off peak traffic direction changes. Both Lane-Flex® Pro and Lane-Flex® Pro HD are produced from the same premium grade polyurethane as Lane-Flex® and have the superior durability that allows Lane-Flex® to outlast other bollards making them the most cost-effective option. The glossy finish is largely self-cleaning during rainfall. Lane-Flex® Pro and Lane-Flex® Pro HD are available in orange or yellow, with white reflective bands. Full customisation using Lane-Flex® colours white, black, green, blue, red, lime and grey is available upon request.

SIGNFIX® ALUMINIUM FRANGIBLE SIGN SUPPORT SYSTEM The Signfix® aluminium frangible sign support system complies to M.A.S.H (Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware) standard tests 3-60, 3-61 and 3-62. It is used extensively by Australian Road Authorities and Transit New Zealand. The crash test results successfully proved that pole sizes 60mm, 76mm, 89mm, 102mm and 114mm OD fell within the frangibility guidelines of the M.A.S.H. standards. The patented system works in conjunction with a purpose made ground sleeve designed to be a snug fit between pole and socket. Depending on the pole diameter, sleeves can be supplied from 300mm to 1m lengths. Sleeves are set in concrete foundations designed to meet local engineering requirements. The sleeve top acts as the shear point and combined with the molecular structure of the alloy will, under sudden impact, bend the pole at the point of impact and will ultimately shear and breakaway at the socket top. Both pole and sleeve are manufactured from high strength marine grade alloy with a typical yield strength of 240 MPa. This alloy has good age hardening qualities and will continue to strengthen over time.
