Where History and Community Come Alive This downtown Somerset, Kentucky, historical venue first opened in 1922 as a beloved community movie theater. On The Virginia’s 100th anniversary, we reopened the historic space, and it became Somerset’s destination for immersive and intimate performances. Today, hundreds, fill the space for entertainment and one-of-a-kind events. With an eclectic mix of musical acts and theater performances, it’s not just the marquee lights that earn The Virginia its title: “The Shining Star of Somerset.”

CLASSIC MOVIES From its heyday during the Depression as a silent film theater to its revival in the 1970s as a cinema, our theater continues to captivate and inspire our community. LIVE MUSIC We celebrate a dynamic range of live music, from soulful bluegrass and classic rock to modern indie bands and orchestras. Our stage brings together local favorites and touring artists, creating memorable nights for audiences of all ages and musical tastes. STAGE ARTISTS Our lineup showcases artists of all backgrounds and styles, creating an inclusive space that celebrates both local talent and visiting performers.

BAR SPONSOR $5,000 (6 MONTHS) / $10,000 (ONE YEAR) An overwhelming 92% of our ticket buyers say they always or sometimes buy food or drink at one of our bars when attending a show at The Virginia. The bar sponsorship gives your business great exposure on the TV menu screens, as well as the cups and napkins that nearly all our patrons enjoy. PERKS: 10 tickets for 6 months & 20 tickets for 12 months. This sponsorship offers premium visibility for every ticket buyer, an exceptional opportunity for a business looking to promote its brand. No matter what, they will know your business supports their purchase. PERKS: 20 tickets to be used on any show throughout the year. CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT SERIES SPONSOR $7,500 / ONE YEAR Our Classic Movie Night series is a favorite for locals and visitors alike! This series features one classic movie per month (in addition to special seasonal showings) and often sells out. The Classic Movie Night sponsorship is open to four businesses who see the value in honoring The Virginia's history as a cinema and reliving some of the greatest films made.
