According to a police report, officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) responded to a call that there was a man lying on the beach in Rose Place, and that he appeared to be dead. On arrival on the scene, the police met a man who was later identified as Nash, lying on the said beach with multiple stab wounds about his body.
