by KENVILLE HORNE A 23-YEAR-OLD MALE is this country’s fourth homicide victim for the year. Renaldo Hamilton, a resident of Stubbs who is said to have previously resided at New Montrose and Campden Park, was shot in Arnos Vale, in the area of the Bus Stop opposite Richardson’s Gas Depot, just a short distance from his mother’s workplace (The Original Rik’s Pizza), sometime around 2:30pm on Saturday 5th February. Reports are that an unknown assailant walked up to him, shot him in the head in full view of others at the bus stop, and fled the scene using the Church of Nazarene road on the opposite side. A video circulating on social media showed Hamilton’s body lying

on the sidewalk in a trail of blood. A women could be heard crying aloud, “That’s my son.”

Mother-son last encounter Rosie Hamilton, Renaldo’s mother, recalled while speaking to a colleague news agency here, the last time she was in touch with her son. She related that that Saturday morning she was already at work, 11am, when she decided to call him. “I say ‘Hi, where are you?’ and he said, ‘I am in the studio Mama. I recording a song, when I done I go come look for you’. I say okay no problem,” said Hamilton. The mother noted that her son arrived at her workplace just before 2pm, and had something to eat. When he was finished eating, as

she would have done on numerous occasions before, she put a hundred dollar bill in a money bag and asked her son to go “get some ones (change).” Rosie noted that she would normally take a look outside whenever Renaldo left but this time, having to attend to a customer, he left without her notice. Not long after, the mother said she heard “pow, pow” and rushed outside to see what the commotion was all about. “I ain’t seeing anybody and they say somebody on the ground… when I look I saw my son lying on the ground.
