The seats allocated for the Opposition members were unoccupied. ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES opened its first session of the Twelfth Parliament on December 23, 2025, following the general elections on November 27th, 2025, marking the official start of the new legislative term. The Parliament met at the temporary Parliament Building in Calliaqua.
Activities for the day Among the activities for the day was
the appointment of the Speaker of the House, a Deputy Speaker, and the swearing-in of fourteen elected members and four senators of the New Democratic Party, all on the government side. Attorney-at-law Ronnia DurhamBalcombe was elected speaker and Jemalie John, Deputy Speaker. John, an attorney-at-law, was also sworn in as one of the government senators. Continued on Page 3.
