THE VILNA The Vilna Shul, Boston’s Center for Jewish Culture, is a hidden gem in the heart of the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood. Founded in 1919, The Vilna is the last-remaining immigrant era synagogue building in Boston and now serves as a center for Jewish culture and communal engagement. The century-old synagogue building combines the charm of a historic sanctuary with modern event space for hosting private life-cycle, social, or corporate events. The Vilna offers a wonderful setting for family events such as b’nai mitzvah, weddings, baby namings, or memorial services. The Vilna team will work with you to accommodate your event rental needs and our recommended vendors are equipped to guide you through the process of transforming our blank canvas into a venue that aligns with your vision.
S A N C T UA RY The Vilna’s upper floor is home to the historic sanctuary, which transforms guests back to another era. Many of the architectural and design details from this 100-year-old immigrant era sanctuary are present today. Canopied in historic charm, natural light floods in from the original skylights providing ambiance to an intimate setting for life-cycle events or artistic performances. Capacity: 300
CO M M U N I T Y R O O M Renovated in 2019, this open, modular space with modern systems on the building’s ground floor can be transformed for any occasion. Capacity: 98
PAT I O P L A Z A You can add an outdoor element to an event with our patio plaza that leads into the main entrance to the building.

A specific date can be placed on hold and secured with a signed rental agreement and initial deposit.
W H E N C A N M Y E V E N T S TA R T A N D E N D ?
The Vilna is available for daytime and evening events on both weekends and weekdays. Fees will vary based on the timing of the event and the time of year.
IS INSURANCE REQUIRED FOR EVENTS?
Insurance is required for each event. Insurance requirements are outlined in the event rental agreement.
D O E S T H E V I L N A H AV E F U R N I T U R E AVA I L A B L E F O R U S E ? The Vilna has a small inventory of tables and chairs that are available for use at your event. A complete list can be found in our rental agreement.
I S T H E V I L N A ACC E S S I B L E F O R P E R S O N S W I T H DISABILITIES? Yes, The Vilna has an ADA compliant entry ramp and the second floor sanctuary is accessible by lift.

Yes. $5 validated parking is available to guests at the Charles River Plaza/Cambridge Street underground garage at 165 Cambridge Street, a 4 minute walk to The Vilna.
W I L L V I L N A P E R S O N N E L B E O N - S I T E AT M Y E V E N T ? One member of our team and one security guard will be provided by The Vilna and will be on-site during your event.
