Ready To Reset I recently returned from a magical cruise in the South Pacific. I am rested, relaxed, recharged, and ready to go.

Now that I am back, I am slammed. I have work from when I was gone, plus my regular duties.

I had all these tasks to complete before leaving, and now I am paying the price.

Is a vacation worth it? Thinking about this and the drumbeat of work-life balance, I am perplexed.

What is work-life balance?

Is it flex time, working from home, yoga time, or professional development time?

Should work be called work, and life be called life? Describing work vs life makes it sound as if work is something we must do, and life is something we want to do. The assumption is that work is something we must prioritize to be successful, and the personal part of our lives can be placed on the back burner.

This was common among families in my generation.

Dad was making a living, and Mom was making a life. Dad would come home bone-tired, and Mom would sigh, grateful that Dad was the provider while she was burning the candle at both ends. Thankfully, this is no longer the case. Moms and dads are both working, and they need to figure out how to make a living and a life together.

To do this well, we must reframe the conversation.

Instead of using the phrase “work-life balance,” let’s change the language to “work-life integration.” How can we create a space where our life is integrated into our work?

Let’s rethink this different-

ly. At work, we have responsibilities. At home, we also have tasks we are responsible for, such as making the bed, paying the bills, doing the laundry, and vacuuming. These responsibilities feel like work.

What we must attach to each of these tasks (whether at work or at home) is a sense of meaning and purpose. This puts the joy back in both places.

Once our duties are complete, we can have time to play, full of whimsy and delight, which increases our joy. This creates a system for human flourishing. Not only do we have a

job to do, but we also live and work for noble, worthy, and meaningful purposes that help us grow, thrive, and serve each other.

One must ask the right questions to find this integration. What am I working for?

What is my passion and purpose? Am I in my giftedness?

Am I making a difference?

What lights me up at work and at home?

Think about what you want from your life. Do you have joy and energy? Are you flourishing and thriving in your work, family, and community? If not, you might need to step back from the mundane and make the changes needed to find the integration and joy you seek. Now, as we get ready for Spring to turn into Summer, it is a perfect time for a reset! joneen@ narme.org

Where the Gold Was Found— and Where Colorado Was Built

As we mark the 250th anniversary of the United States and approach the 150th anniversary of Colorado’s statehood, it is worth returning to one of the defining moments in our state’s history—the discovery of gold by John Gregory in 1859.

That discovery occurred in Gregory Gulch, in what was then part of Black

BY BOB SWEENEY Hawk. Over time, boundaries shifted and PUBLISHER maps were redrawn, but historically, the first major strike in this district traces back to that ground. It was there that the rush began, and from that moment forward, Colorado’s future changed.

From that single discovery, two communities rose side by side, each shaping the region in its own way.

Black Hawk developed as the industrial backbone—where ore was processed, stamp mills thundered, and the wealth of the mountains took form. Just above it, Central City emerged as the civic and cultural center—home to law offices, newspapers, hotels, and the institutions of a growing society.

By the early 1870s, that society had taken on a remarkable level of sophistication. In 1872, Henry M. Teller—attorney, businessman, and future United States senator—built the Teller House, one of the finest hotels in the West. It quickly became a gathering place for

leaders, investors, and visitors drawn to the booming district.

Only a few years later, in 1878, local miners and citizens came together to build the Central City Opera House. It remains one of the most extraordinary achievements of the era. Men who spent their days deep underground extracting gold chose to invest in music, performance, and culture. It was a declaration that this was not just a mining camp, but a community.

Across the street stood another cornerstone of that community—our newspaper offices, located on the second floor of the historic Masonic building. That structure, which survived the devastating fire of 1874, reflects the resilience of the town. Originally built by newspaper interests, it later grew when the Masons added a third-floor lodge above. Ownership changed hands over time, but the purpose endured: a place where civic leadership and the exchange of ideas lived side by side.

Within a single block, the story of early Colorado came into focus—the Teller House, the Opera House, the Masonic Lodge, and the newspaper.

Nearby, a livery stable served those arriving by horse and carriage, completing the rhythm of daily life in a mountain town that was anything but ordinary.

These communities were not only prosperous—they were influential.

Gilpin County and neighboring Clear Creek County stood at the center of territorial Colorado, their mines produc-

ing immense wealth and their citizens helping shape the path to statehood in 1876. Leaders like Teller carried that influence from these streets to the national stage.

As the years passed and the mines declined, both Central City and Black Hawk faced difficult times. The population fell, businesses closed, and for a period, even the Opera House went quiet. Yet the story did not end there.

In the 20th century, efforts to revive the Opera House brought renewed attention and support, drawing on a broader network of Colorado philanthropy and cultural investment.

Then came another turning point.

With the legalization of limited-stakes gaming in 1991, the region experienced a modern revival. This time, Black Hawk rose to prominence, becoming the primary center of gaming in Colorado and the dominant economic force in Gilpin County.

There is a certain symmetry in that outcome.

The gold was first discovered in what was then Black Hawk, in Gregory Gulch—and today, it is Black Hawk where much of the region’s economic strength once again resides. Central City, meanwhile, continues to stand as a cultural and historical landmark , preserving the legacy of those early days.

History has a way of coming full circle.

And in Gilpin County, it all began with a strike of gold—and grew into a story that helped shape a state.

Q: How did you get the nickname “Two Scoops?”

A: My husband Ric came up with the name early in our relationship after learning how much food and dessert I consumed on a regular basis. Years ago, in his phone he created a “2 Scoops” album containing mostly ice cream photos. I’m known to order at least a couple scoops, then turn around to buy a third.

Q: Share your background and love for yummy food and cooking.

A: I have a line of cooks and bakers in my family including my mom, my Mimi, and great grandmother. They taught me, and we always had delicious home cooked meals and desserts on the table since I can remember. I come from a pretty large family so there were always lots of family and friends around to share meals with. I equally love both cooking and baking.

I’m one of those people who will read 5 different recipes on homemade cinnamon rolls, and choose what I think will taste the best based on the ingredients. For example, when making a cake, if it calls for buttermilk or sour cream, you know its gonna be good! I’m from the South, so I’m a bit of a food snob especially when it comes to pastries, doughnuts, cookies, cakes, pies etc.

Q: What is your goal with highlighting restaurant reviews and sharing your favorite recipes?

A: This is the fun part for me! I’m constantly researching restaurants all over the Denver metro area. I study menus, check out the atmosphere vibe, and read about the chefs. I find my favorites, and keep a running list in my phone. I have many friends that have learned this about me, so I get asked for recommendations often. I get quite passionate about where I’ve been or where I’m wanting to try next, and why. So far no one has come back and said they didn’t really like a place I suggested. I hope to keep this going. One of the ways I show love is by cooking or baking for people. We all have to eat. Meals bring people together right? If someone likes something I made for them, It makes my day! I have several large 3 ring binders that I created over the years with endless favorite recipes, and a couple special binders from my favorite recipes I grew up with.

I sure look forward to sharing some of all the above, along this journey with you!

40% likely first step to Penner-owned Rockies In August 2010 Stan Kroenke exercised a right of first refusal for the late Georgia Frontiere’s 60% interest in the then-St. Louis Rams, giving him full ownership of the National Football League franchise, which in 2016 he would move to Los Angeles.

NFL owners unanimously approved his acquisition—on the condition that Kroenke comply with the league’s rule disallowing concurrent ownership of franchises in any of the other major professional sports—anywhere in the U.S. In Kroenke’s case, this meant he had to withdraw from active involvement in the Denver-based franchises he owns—most notably the Nuggets in the National Basketball Association and the Avalanche of the National Hockey League.

His son Josh was named president of both, and in 2015 Stan Kroenke’s majority ownership stakes in both were transferred to his wife, Ann Walton Kroenke.

Three years later, NFL owners voted to rescind cross-ownership limitations, in part because the escalating sale prices of NFL franchises were reducing the pool of prospective buyers to many who already owned other pro sports franchises, such as Kroenke did.

Which brings us to the purchase of the Broncos in 2022 for $4.65 billion and why the same folks could own both Denver’s pro football and Major League Baseball teams.

In three-plus years the Walton-Penner Group, led by Greg and Carrie Walton Penner—yes, the same Walton family of which Ann Walton Kroenke is a member—has established itself as premier owners, returning the Broncos to Super Bowl contenders, investing hundreds of millions of dollars in Broncos Park, and undertaking the construction of a new stadium at Burnham Yard—along with now owning the largest minority share of the Rockies Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner alone seriously outrank the collection of minority owners they are supplanting—the remaining minority shares can’t be very large if Dick Monfort still holds controlling interest in the franchise. (Walmart, of which Greg Penner is chairman, is the world’s largest company by revenue and the largest private employer in the world, with 2.1 million em-

ployees.)

That makes them very desirable new members of MLB’s owner class.

Greg Penner’s business background far outdistances Dick Monfort’s.

Penner majored in international economics at Georgetown (where he met is future wife) then earned his MBA at Stanford. With all due respect to the University of Northern Colorado, from which Dick Monfort received his only college degree, a BA in business management, it doesn’t pretend to have a reputation on par with either Georgetown or Stanford.

Penner’s first significant job was working as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs. He founded the investment firm Madrone Capital Partners. And he worked his way up at Walmart from store employee to Chief Financial Officer of Walmart Japan before eventually succeeding his father-in-law, Rob Walton, as Walmart chairman.

Carrie Walton Penner, granddaughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, is an impressive person in her own right. Greg’s classmate at

both Georgetown and Stanford, she’s been a leader in the charter school movement, as well as the mother of four.

By comparison, prior to his involvement with the Rockies, Monfort held a variety of positions in the cattle business.

He’s also involved in real estate development and ownership and in restaurants—all profitable and respectable ventures but, also, not in Penner’s league.

Financially, Penner and his wife dwarf Dick Monfort, who is wealthy but not MLBrich, by today’s standards.

It explains why the Rockies have not been able to compete for many top free agents.

Rockies fans want to know what the news of the Penners’ acquisition of 40% interest in the ball club means for them and the future of their team.

The press release announcing the transaction made it clear that the Penners would not have a say in the club’s operation. Which might be so at the outset.

But as a highly successful business friend of mine who is familiar with big-money investments said to me after hearing this news, people who put up that kind of money don’t leave it to others to look after it. At least not for long.

I see the Penners playing the long game.

The day will come when they make their senior partner an offer he can’t refuse, to either trade places in the ownership hierarchy—thus preserving some stake in the Rockies for his sons—or relinquish all involvement and bestow wealth upon those sons.

Either way, that would enable the Penners to transform the Rockies as they have the Broncos. Their original investment eliminated the burden of existing debt the Rockies were carrying.

Can it really happen?

Dick Monfort, who seems likely to play a major role in upcoming negotiations between MLB and the Player Association over a new collective bargaining agreement, is already on record decrying the current uncontrolled salaries of top players.

If talks over some sort of salary cap fail entirely or significantly delay the start of the 2027—or if this likely impasse eliminates the season entirely—Monfort could be moved to abandon baseball ownership in frustration.

358-unit apartment building proposed for Streets at SouthGlenn The City of Centennial has been accepting online public input for a proposal from Broadstone/Streets at SouthGlenn (SOSG) for a 358-unit, five story apartment building to be constructed on 5.24 acres there. The site is the former location of Macy’s, at the north end of SOSG. The proposal is from Alliance Residential Company, a highly active rental residential real estate developer, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, with 16 regional offices.

Alliance “has been active in the Denver metro area since 2006 and has developed over 5,000 units in Denver and surrounding communities.”

Apartments will range from studios to 3-bedroom units.

According to Alliance, “This project has been designed for individuals and families to integrate into the SOSG community; adding new housing in a way that reinforces walkability…”

As planners everywhere have long confirmed about mixed-use development, Alliance said, “This infusion of residents transforms the site from a primarily destina-

tion-based retail environment into a more balanced, lived-in neighborhood.” The project will include a garage with 557 parking spaces and a private outdoor community pool and hot tub.

With the period for community input completed on April 22, Alliance expects to submit its formal application

by April 30. From that point forward, approval is administrative. Timing depends on the city’s review of the application materials and how long it will take to make any necessary revisions, pursuant to that review.

Alliance anticipates beginning construction of the apartment building and related

amenites during the last quarter of 2026 and plans to have the buildings completed and ready for occupancy between July and September of 2028.

As of April 20, the city had received more than 100 comments in its virtual community meeting. The online page includes responses to questions and concerns received, from city staff and members of the development and design team.

More comments were supportive of the plan than not. Of those that were against it, they largely cited concerns about traffic. A traffic study was performed when the original master plan was approved to increase the number of allowable housing units in 2021,

but that plan will have to be updated before the current proposal is approved, so there is a process in place to assure that any necessary traffic mitigation will occur.

Other negative comments were nonspecific or very specific, e.g., “This is too high density,” “Way too much parking just exacerbates the car problem in general,” “The number of parking spaces does not seem like enough for residents and guests,” “I feel no more than four stories should be the limit,” “How about 200 units or less?” and “Centennial is insistent on a massive multifamily development on this site. Appeasing only the developers.”

It was December 13, 2021, when the Centennial City Council voted to increase the number of allowable housing units at the Streets at SouthGlenn from 350 to 1,125, while lowering the minimum amount of retail space from 900,000 square feet to 621,000 square feet, to permit the plan now being considered.

The new housing units were expected to be built by Greenwood Village-based Alberta Development Partners, owner of SOSG, at the Macy’s site, and Northwoods Investors on the larger, former Sears site that it had purchased in 2017.

Northwoods later pulled out of the project and, according to the City of Centennial, “The (Sears) site is still being marketed as a strong location for future housing.”

On January 21, 2026, The Luzzatto Company, a New Mexico real estate developer, bought 127,000 square feet of retail property at SOSG from an entity of Alberta Development Partners for just over $28 million. Expect lots of activity to happen soon at this mall.

three Republicans on the June 30 primary ballot for governor: State Rep. Scott Bottoms, missionary Victor Marx, and Kirkmeyer.

The winner of that contest will face either Attorney General Phil Weiser or U.S. Senator Michael Bennet in the general election in November.

Attorney General

My name is Kathleen Chandler, and I am one of 15 elected Directors on the RTD board. I represent District F – the eastern side of Aurora.

I am writing regarding Senate Bill 26-150 and its proposed changes to the governance structure of the Regional Transportation District (RTD). Currently there are 15 elected directors for the 2,342 miles district with a total population of 3.1 million residents. District F is home to about 200,000 residents.

After careful consideration, I am unable to support SB26-150.

At its core, SB26-150 shifts authority away from officials who are directly elected by the voters and places it in the hands of unelected gubernatorial appointees.

With the petitions of At-

torney General candidates, Democrats Hetal Doshi and Michael Dougherty, having been certified as sufficient on April 14, they will both be on the June 30 primary ballot, along with previously reported candidates, Secretary of State Jena Griswold and attorney David Seligman.

The victor in that race will face either Republican 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen or attorney

This represents a significant change in governance. RTD is funded by taxpayers and serves the public, and its leadership should remain directly accountable to those same voters. Reducing elected representation while increasing the role of appointed positions risks weakening that accountability and diminishing the voice of the citizens we are entrusted to serve. The bill changes the 15-member elected board to a 5-person elected board with 4 gubernatorial appointees for a total of 9 members.

Elected board members are accountable to their constituents through regular elections. They are not only representatives, but citizens who bring real-world experience, community knowledge, and a direct understanding of the needs of the people

In Congressional District One (Denver), CU Regent Wanda James’ petitions were certified as being sufficient on April 15. She will join incumbent U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette and Melat Kiros on the June 30 Democratic primary ballot.

The idea that elected citizens are somehow less qualified to govern than appointed individuals overlooks the value of that lived experience and the legitimacy that comes from being chosen by voters. Appointed members, while often highly qualified in specific areas, do not carry that same direct line of accountability to the public.

The appointed members, as proposed, are not accountable to the communities that are serviced by RTD but to the governor. At the very least, the cities and counties that reside in the district should have a voice on who those members are. Instead, the governor, a state-wide elected official, appoints those 4 members.

SB26-150 does the exact opposite. It takes away the vote of the people in their local community.

For these reasons, I respectfully oppose SB26-150.

hief U.S. District court Judge Troy A. Nunley has halted the merger of KDVR Fox31 and KUSA 9News, for now, by issuing a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit alleging violation of antitrust rules, filed by eight state attorneys general, including Colorado’s Phil Weiser, and

DirecTV. Judge Nunley wrote, “Because Plaintiffs raise a likelihood of success on the merits of their claims and establish irreparable harm absent an injunction, the Court finds the public interest” is best served by holding off the merger, which would cause “irreparable harm” to Direct TV and eight states, including Colorado. In March, the U.S. Dept. of Justice approved the merger, after Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr “granted a waiver of the agency’s broadcast ownership rule limiting how many stations a company can own to 39% of the national audience. The merger would give Nexstar 80%,” according to The Colorado Sun. _____________________________

wo more DTC office buildings have sold for half their former value. Cress Capital bought 7800 E. Union Avenue and 7900 E. Union Avenue for just over $36 million, compared to the nearly $72 million Florida-based TerraCap laid out for the two properties in 2019. Tom Parnell, Cress’ managing partner, told the Denver Business Journal, that “walkability” was the big draw. DBJ noted that there are “over 20 restaurants and five hotels within walking distance.” _____________________________

GOP candidates for Attorney General and Secretary of State share their ideas with local breakfast club

he leading candidate for the GOP nomination for Colorado Attorney General, Michael Allen, and the sole GOP candidate for Colorado Secretary of State, James Wiley, spoke to the South Metro Republican Breakfast Club on April 1 at its regular meeting at Maggiano’s DTC. Allen talked about joining the U.S. Navy and serving eight years, right after his graduation from Arvada West High School, before attending college and law school. He is currently in his second four-year term as the elected 4th Judicial District Attorney. He noted that his is the largest district in Colorado, and includes El Paso and Teller Counties.

Allen told the group, “We’re at a crossroads here in Colorado. We all know that…When I talk to anybody around the state, everybody’s feeling the same thing. We’re ready for a

change.”

In his current position as a DA, Allen shared, “When we have motor vehicle theft being the worst in the entire United States (though it has improved in recent years), in El Paso and Teller Counties…I started a prosecution unit dealing directly with motor vehicle theft. I assigned one prosecutor and one investigator, and that’s all they work on. They are embedded with law enforcement agencies in the district, working hand-in-hand with

them. They have an office in my building and in the police department building, where they work on those investigations, making sure they are sound and strong, so they withstand judicial scrutiny when they prosecute those cases in court. In 2024, prior to our starting that unit, we had over 5,000 motor vehicle theft cases in the 4th Judicial District.

In 2025, after we got that program running, we cut that in half to just over 2,000 cases…We’ve had some of

the longest prison sentence in the 4th Judicial District for motor vehicle theft, up to about 30 years.”

Wiley, who announced his website is redflameofliberty. com, said, “I’ve been fighting for election integrity for the past six years, starting in 2020, when a lot of people realized that something has seriously gone wrong with our elections system, and, if we don’t address it, we are at risk of losing our republic.”

He continued, “So, I got involved in the Dominion (voting machines) class action lawsuit. In 2022, I was involved in the Colorado recounts, and, by the way, let’s get Tina Peters out of jail.

Let’s free Tina Peters.”

Wiley also shared that he was part of an effort that sued the current Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, three times over the method used for recounting votes, until the courts said, “Please, stop suing her. We are not going

to pay attention to this.”

He talked about Griswold mistakenly publishing passwords in 2024, “For which, I sued her, as well,” he said, adding, “I look forward to being on the other side of that, inside the office of the Secretary of State, exposing the crimes that have been committed over the last six years, and going back much, much further, because our elections have not been great for much longer than just six years. These machines need to go.”

On its home page, Wiley’s website lists same-day, in-person voting with voter ID, paper ballots, and hand counting of ballots as his top issues.

He told the group, “My purpose is to decertify all election machines on day one.” In order to limit the cost of using all paper ballots and having them hand-counted, Wiley said he would have schoolchildren around the state perform the hand counting of paper ballots.

Cherry Creek Schools hosted Inaugural Seal of Biliteracy Ceremony honoring 500 students Cherry Creek Schools hosted its first-ever Seal of Biliteracy Ceremony, recognizing students who had demonstrated exceptional proficiency in English and at least one additional language. This year, more than 500 students received this distinguished recognition, a significant increase from 295 students last year.

The Class of 2026 honorees represented an impressive linguistic diversity, with proficiency in 22 languages other than English. Notably, 27 students were proficient in two or more languages beyond English, and 95 students were recognized after successfully

exiting the district’s English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.

The Seal of Biliteracy is a prestigious award that recognizes students who achieve high levels of proficiency in two or more languages and demonstrates their readiness for college, career, and participation in a global society.

The Neighbors Think Your Grass is Greener ou know how some people—not me, but some people—get to feeling envious, inadequate and as boring as a brown paper bag when they hear about other people’s good fortune or accomplishments.

I recently stumbled across a catchy name for that psychological phenomenon: compare and despair. Isn’t that a clever turn of phrase? I wish I was as wise as whoever came up with that expression to describe that thing other people do.

As a confident, enlightened person who is content with my life some of the time, I never compare and despair. Or admit to it. Still after hearing

Another article suggested we consider the possibility that someone somewhere might actually be comparing themselves to us and our outsides. Trying to figure out why they would do that could help us appreciate what we have a little more. In other words, while we’re wishing we could keep up with the Joneses, the Joneses might be wishing they could keep up with us. That’s hard to believe. I think the Joneses have better taste than that.

One article suggested we avoid the situations that trig-

First off, if you’re prone to compare and despair, take comfort in the fact that you’re not alone. A quick internet search of the phrase came up with 20,800,000 results. How have I never heard it before?

I’m always the last to know.

Obviously it’s a problem for a lot of people. Not me. But a lot.

The author of one online article I read said it’s easy to focus on the good parts of other people’s lives and forget the difficult ones. That’s so true. It’s like the old adage, “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence because they spend a lot of time watering it.”

She said we humans tend to, “compare our insides to other people’s outsides.”

There’s another brilliant expression I wish I’d thought of. We see the big, fancy house but not the big, fancy mortgage. We see our friend’s vacation photos but not their credit card bills. Of course, the mortgage could be paid off and they could have paid

ger us to compare and despair.

The author was mainly referring to that great self-esteem slayer in cyberspace, social media. But I think you might also want to avoid reading Christmas letters and going to the gym. Both have been known to cause compare and despair in some people. Not me, but some people.

And it’s easy to see why.

Hardly anyone mentions their insides in Christmas letters.

And it’s hard not to compare yourself to other people at the gym and come up short—or tall or fat or thin, though seldom thin. That’s why I don’t go to the gym.

And finally another article suggested we compare ourselves to ourselves rather than other people. You’d think that would end in a tie. But the author went on to say we should celebrate our own progress, ask ourselves how we stack up against our former selves—unless it’s worse.

That does sound like a positive alternative to compare and despair if I were the type to do that, which I am not.

How should bank accounts be handled under your Revocable Living Trust?

As part of your estate plan, if you have created a revocable living trust, it is important to properly title your assets, or handle their disposition as part of your trust to avoid probate and take advantage of the trust. This includes your bank accounts.

Checking accounts, savings accounts and certificates of deposit in banks, credit unions and sav-

ings and loan associations may be titled in the name of your trust. The ownership of your accounts is determined by the form of ownership reflected on the bank or savings and loan records (not necessarily what is shown on the account statements). If you want to place an account into your trust during your lifetime, you must change the title on the account. However, if you do not wish to have the ownership of the trust reflected on the printed checks, you may request the institution to continue to print your

individual name on the checks.

This will not affect the ownership of the account.

Another way to title such accounts held in your sole name is to use a “Payable on Death” (POD) designation to the trust, which will put the account into the trust when you die. This form of registration is specifically authorized by the Colorado Probate Code. It would not apply to accounts held in joint tenancy. This means that you would personally continue to be the record owner of the account during your lifetime, but any balance remaining in the account at the time of death would automatically be transferred to the trust. Such an account would read: (Name of Account Holder) POD the John Doe Trust, dated April 24, 2026.

Using the POD will only transfer the account to the trust upon your death and might result in an unfunded trust, should you become incapacitated.

For bank accounts, you can change the title as soon as the trust is established. For certificates of deposit, you may want to wait until the certificates become due, and then renew them in the name of the trust, in order to avoid penalties for early withdrawal of funds.

Before transferring ownership of Credit Union accounts, check to see if any associated life insurance benefits will be available to an account titled in the name of the trust.

As noted in my prior column regarding taxing of a revocable

living trust, you do not need a separate tax identification number for your trust. Instead, you may use your social security number.

It is best to consult with an experienced estate plan attorney or tax professional to help with the proper titling and handling of bank accounts under your revocable living trust.
