It's almost time for the 2019 Step Up for The Up Center presented by ECPI University! Here's everything you need to know to get ready for the event.

Friday, April 26

Packet Pickup Race bibs and t-shirts will be available for pickup outside Conte's Bike Shop, located at 1805 Laskin Rd. in Virginia Beach. The Up Center and J&A Racing will be on site from 5-7 PM. This is also the final day to register for the event before the price increases!

Saturday, April 27 Event Parking Something in the Water, a music festival with multiple performance venues throughout the city of Virginia Beach, has been scheduled for April 26-28. Please note that the city’s Sherriff’s Dept. and our contacts at The Westin have indicated that city parking garages in Town Center will NOT be used for

Festival participants or a shuttle area, and there are currently no performances in the Town Center area. If this changes, we will let you know as soon as we find out.

With that said, please allow extra time for travel given that there will be likely be many out of town visitors here that weekend. The Westin hotel is fully booked and there is the possibility that the attached parking garage could be at capacity. There are multiple free parking locations at Town Center within walking distance of the Westin.

Schedule of Events 8:30 AM Registration opens 9:15 AM Opening remarks in lobby 9:20 AM All climbers move to starting corrals 10:15 AM Stair Climb awards 10:20 AM Endurance Climbers to the starting corrals 10:30 AM First Endurance Climber starts 11:40 AM Final Endurance Climber finishes 11:45 AM Endurance Climb awards Stair Climb: Waves have been eliminated for this year's event. Racers will line up in the corral and each wait for J&A staff to cue their start. Stair Climb awards will follow at 10:15 AM downstairs in the Registration room.

Endurance Climb: The first Endurance Climber will begin at 10:30 AM with competitors following at a staggered release. Each competitor will have one hour from the time they break the start line to race up to the top as many times as they can. Elevators will be used to take competitors back to the bottom. Endurance Climb awards will follow at 11:45 AM.

2019 Event Participant Shirt This year's event participant shirt features the familiar Step Up logo and a new handdrawn design from a child in The Up Center family. The huge heart captures the passion we all have for our community, and we love the illustration of the iconic Westin Virginia Beach Town Center!

We will have a limited number of adult and youth sizes for sale on Saturday. Each shirt is $10. Participant shirts are included in every registration.
