It has been such a pleasure working with the Lower School Art and Literary Club members on Unquowazine Volume 4. They have worked tirelessly on various stages of magazine development. This year they have included more original content in the form of book reviews, comics, and a Lower School survey.

Together with their staff, Alex, Maxim, and Denny reviewed much of the work themselves. They did an amazing job of being mindful of each student's work while honoring its authenticity. As their advisors, we guided them and gave them structure and support.

Letter from the Editors

Dear Readers, Welcome to Unquowazine Volume 4. We are so excited to show you our art and literary magazine! For the past few months, the whole staff has worked so hard to make Unquowazine possible. Check out pre-k to 4th-grade artwork, writing, and more.

In our magazine, there is lots of splendid work from the Lower School students (pre-k to 4th). From pre-k, there are drawings about love.

Kindergarten works together to showcase work that highlights a classroom community with compassion for others. The 1st graders made lovely “All About Snow Days” pieces. Grade 2 made imaginary animals and wrote about them. 3rd Graders wrote awesome poems. 4th Grade students submitted informational essays and realistic fiction stories.

This year

Unquowazine has new features like book reviews, a school survey, and even Unquowazine comics.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Unquowazine staff of Vol. 4 for their hard work! We would like to thank the Lower School for the wonderful art and writing they submitted to us. This year the cover was created by Ashlee and Mila. They did a great job on the cover, it is amazing!

We would also like to thank Mr. Casey and Mrs. Engelke. None of this would be possible without their guidance and support.

The History of Space Travel First, if you want to be an astronaut it is good to know the history of space travel. It all started in 1955 when the U.S was against the Soviet Union in the space race. The space race was a race to see who could make the first technology to get to space. For example the first satellite was made by the Soviet Union which meant the U.S was behind in the race. The U.S was embarrassed about losing to the

Soviet Union so President Eisenhower said “we can’t lose to the Soviet Union we must win”. From then on the U.S started working harder they were now trying to get the first man on the moon. It took a lot of testing and brave souls to try the space crafts. On July 20,1969 the US launched the first ever spacecraft that landed on the moon and the first person on the moon!!!!

Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon. He said a famous saying: that's one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind. The U.S won finally.

Nowadays we have moved to different planets like Mars. We even put a rover on mars.

All About Astronauts Ever wonder what an astronaut is? Well lucky for you, you're going to learn all about them in this paragraph! An astronaut is a person who is trained to go to space, and live there. Astronauts have to go through a lot of training. It takes a lot of hard work to become an astronaut. You have to go through ten years of tough training. Well it actually takes 4 years of college, two years for a masters degree,

two years of professional experience, and two years of NASA training. For training they go in pools to feel weightless before they can actually go to space. When astronauts get in they wear spacesuits. An astronaut can only bring limited things to space like a book, a notepad,clothing to space. When you are in space the food is mostly foods like nuts, peanut butter, chicken, beef, seafood, candy, and brownies.

So now you may be wondering how astronauts sleep in space. Well they sleep just like we sleep on earth just in pods. Now you know how astronauts live, sleep, and eat.

Why we Need Space Travel Why should we explore space? It's so expensive, the planet is suffering and we are exploring different planets. Well these are some reasons why we need space exploration. The first reason is we want to know if other planets are habitable. The second reason is satellites keep important information. The third reason is the ISS( The International Space station) brings astronauts from all over the world. The ISS helps dring important information to earth about space.

The History of Baseball Baseball has a lot of history in our country. It was created from a game called rounders. Rounders was created by Abner Doubleday. It was played in England. Rounders is a game that is like baseball but there are 4 poles in a diamond shape and you need a rounders ball and a rounders bat. Rounders is similar to baseball but without the poles and a longer bat. That is why

Baseball Equipment For baseball you need special equipment. For example you need a helmet, you need that to help you from getting hurt when you're at bat. You need a glove for catching the ball and batting gloves.The catcher has a different glove from the fielders and has to wear a chest pad. You need 4 bases, 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base, and home plate. Finally you need a baseball bag to carry all your equipment in it. And that's what you need to play baseball.

Famous Baseball Players There are so many famous baseball players. Some of the most famous players are Babe Ruth, and Jackie Robinsin. Babe Ruth played for the Boston Red Socks and the New York Yankees. I think everybody knows who Babe Ruth is. Do you know who Jim Rice is? He played for the Boston Red Sox. Jim Rice played in 1974. That's my third reason.

ThE A MAZING LIFE of DOGS Have you ever wanted to know about the amazing life of dogs? Well then this book is for you! This book will tell you about food that is deadly to dogs, how dogs can help people, and how to take care of a dog!

Deadly Food for Dogs Did you know dogs can not have some types of food? For example, coffee. You should not give your dog coffee because it can be deadly to your dog.

Beans have the same effect as coffee so they can also kill your dog. Two other things can kill your dog like cherry pits and chocolate. It is important to keep foods safely stored away from your dog so you will have your buddy for a longer period of time. Dogs do not know what can be deadly to them.

How Dogs Help People Second, dogs can help people. Dogs can be hunting dogs to help hunters retrieve food. Dogs can be working dogs such as guard dogs which are really strong. House pets, the traditional dog, house pets which are what most people love. Other types of helpful dogs are therapy dogs, rescue dogs, herding dogs, sled dogs, dog mascots, watch dogs, racing dogs, water rescue dogs, truffle sniffing dogs, detection dogs, carting dogs, and rat extermination dogs.

And Last but not Least Dog Care!

Dogs need fresh water one or two times a day. Like us humans, dogs need to have their teeth brushed at least once a month. (DO NOT USE A TOOTHBRUSH FOR HUMANS ON A DOG).You also need to give your dog food twice a day, but do not forget to see if your dog is allergic to any food. Also, you need to groom your dog one or two times a week, ,but some dogs do not like baths, so you might need to get a muzzle because they might bite you while you are grooming them. Finally, do not forget to exercise your dog which you can do by either letting your dog run in a backyard or take your dog on a walk.

Conclusion So now you know about which foods NOT to give your dog, how helpful dogs can be and how to take care of your dog.

Did you know that the tip of the fencing sword is the second fastest thing in the Olympics after the Marksman’s bullet! Or that many ballet positions came from fencing! Those things are true facts about fencing. Fencing is a wonderful sport and I am glad I am able to teach it to you.

The three swords of fencing Fencing is used with three swords, foil, saber and epee; those three weapons were designed for different purposes. Foil is for people who like stabbing because that's the only way for you to score a point in foil. Also in foil you can only hit the chest and back you cannot hit the arms, legs or mask. Saber however is for more aggressive people. In Sabre anywhere on the blade is a point and you can hit

anywhere on the person's body. Epee is reserved for very smart people. Like foil you can only score a point with the tip of the blade, but like Sabre, in epee you can hit anywhere on the body.

History of fencing

Modern fencing originated in 1610 from Ridolfo Capo Ferro who many consider to be the father of Modern Fencing. Fencing started in Spain where the most common theory of how it began was training men for war. There has even been a painting in one of the pyramids of Egypt depicting what looked like an early form of a fencing match! Fencing was used in ancient Rome, ancient Egypt, Germany, France, Italy and Hungary. Today fencing is used all over the world.

How to fence The 3 most commonly used moves in fencing are Advance, Retreat, Lunge and Recover and in this paragraph I will be teaching you how to do these moves. for advance you make your feet a L position then go into a stance that looks like you're riding a horse. Then to move forward, put your heel up and down while moving forward in that position. For Retreat you use the same steps as Advance

but backwards. For Lunge you make your back leg diagonal and your front at a 45 degree angle. Lunge is typically used to score a point but you can use any other move to do the same. So congratulations, if you've read this essay you can now say that you are an official fencer!

Facts about fencing The second to last thing in this essay will be some jaw-dropping facts about fencing, so get ready for this to blow your mind! Did you know that fencing was 1 of 4 Sports in the early modern Olympics. Or that fencing suits are white because in earlier times a point in fencing was recorded with ink on a piece of cotton on the tip of the blade. Finally did you know that the founder of the modern Olympic Games was an avid fencer!

ago. People would leave food for cats so they would come to pay a visit. Cats were fine with the idea of being close to humans because they would get food. Cats began living in villages with people. It's amazing how they were first alone exploring the earth and now they're your regular pet!

Cat Breeds There are so many types of cats also known as cat breeds. There are so many it's probably really hard to memorize 50 cat breeds so read on to find out about some cool cat breeds.

Cats can be so many different colors, shapes and sizes. With all these cat breeds you at least need to know their characteristics. Ragdolls, one of the most popular cats, are calm and gentle breeds but they can get playful at times. They love people and will notice if you're feeling down. Siamese cats are super playful and need attention from their owner.

No other game company has a hero like Mario who stars in so many adventures. Mario is also an icon and he is the most recognizable character in video game history!

History of Nintendo Nintendo started in Tokyo, Japan in 1889 by a man who was 29. The Company’s name means “leave luck of heaven”. Nintendo originally made Japanese playing cards that were painted on tree bark. The Fire Flower and the Piranha Plant from Super Mario Bros were featured in the old Japanese playing cards. Also, Pokémon was based on these cards.

Playing cards were banned by the Japanese government because people used them to gamble. After the ban, playing cards did not make a lot of money so Nintendo looked for new businesses. They made ramen noodles and owned taxis and hotels.

In the game, Mario and Luigi try to save Princess Peach from a giant snapping turtle named Bowser who breathes fire. The game takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom, which is a strange place that is filled with mushrooms that make Mario grow taller.

Mario gets to the Mushroom Kingdom by going down a pipe. Mr. Miyamoto got the idea of Super Mario Bros from Alice in Wonderland and Japanese mythology. In 1983, Nintendo invented the Family Computer and it was known as the Famicom. The Famicom was only available in Japan. In 1985, Nintendo released a new version of the Famicom called the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES. The NES was available in the United States.

The NES had two controllers called Gamepads, which were different from joysticks. The NES console was grey and white and had an 8-bit processor. A processor is like a brain that follows the code that was programmed by a software engineer. 8-bit systems were better than arcade videos games at that time but 8-bit systems were limited. They had a maximum of 256 levels and could only show a maximum of 64 colors and only 13 at one time. The NES came with Super Mario Bros which is a very famous 8-bit game. It was a cold Halloween night and I could feel the fog below my feet.

My name is Lilly Johnson. I'm ten years old and live in Minnesota. I am the youngest of five. I have four brothers whose names are Max, James, Declan, and Jack. My brothers always play tricks on me, so I needed to be ready.

On that cold, foggy Halloween night, my brothers told me a scary story about an old man that lives in a cemetery and eats girls. I knew it was fake but I was still scared because it was Halloween remember?

When I wasn’t thinking about the scary story I was thinking about my awesome costume. I was going as a minion. This year my brothers were taking me trick or treating and I was not so fond of this idea. My mom said “you have to go with your brothers unless you want me to go with you.” I said “fine!” I knew that I would get a trick from my brothers. So I did my best to be ready for any trick thrown my way.

My brothers started to tease me when I told them I was worried about being cold. I did not trust them.

When we entered the woods I felt a soft breeze that made me feel insecure. The deeper we got the more I felt scared. Finally my brothers said that we were here.

I was so happy to be out of this but when I looked up I was more surprised to see a cemetery, than before you could say” ahhhh “James pushed me in the cemetery and started running home.

I tried to follow, but they were too fast. Lost and feeling confused I decided to look for a way out . Then something tapped me on the shoulder. I looked behind me and saw an old man. I screamed and started to run. My head was spinning and my heart was pounding. I looked behind me every few seconds.

The old man was still following me. I decided to hide. Well as you can imagine, there are not a lot of good hiding places in a cemetery. Then I saw the best climbing tree ever and I thought it would be a perfect hiding spot.

So, I started to run to the climbing tree. Then out of nowhere I fell into a

hole in the ground. It was about twelve feet deep and six feet wide. I did not know what to do. For a minute, I thought to yell for help, but if I yelled for help, I would be found by the old man who was chasing me earlier.

I decided it was not a good idea to yell for help. I thought about what to do. I decided to climb out of the hole, then out of nowhere a rock cut my arm. I could not help but scream; my arm was in so much pain. It was gushing with blood.

Suddenly I hear footsteps approaching. I quickly run to the corner and crouch. I see an old face appear at the top of the hole. All of a sudden, a squeaky voice says, “are you ok, young lady?”

I knew that voice wasn't the one from the story because when my brother imitated the old man he had a very deep voice. So I said “yes “ as soon as you could blink an eye, a ladder came shooting down. And I climbed up the ladder. It was quite rusty.

As soon as I was up the man started walking but this time he was very slow. Finally we reached an odd looking cabin. I said, “ Is this your home?” he said “yes.” Then he asked, “are you here with anyone else?” I shook my head and said no. He told me to hop in the back seat of his car. So I did. The seats were torn up, it looked like the car had not been used for a hundred years. To be honest, I was surprised when it turned on.

It started with a sickness and ended with my dog and I in the woods.

Hi my name is Fulecy Bergincin. I am 11 years old and I live in Newtown.

This is my story of how I got lost in the forest.

I woke up one Saturday morning and it was a bright and sunny day.

I was wide awake and ready to face the day but first I needed to eat breakfast. I was starving. I went downstairs and could smell my mom making my favorite bacon and egg sandwich. “Good Morning, Fulecy” my dad said. I was surprised to see that my dad was making my breakfast because my mom normally makes my breakfast.

I asked my dad “where’s mom?” My dad did not reply. I was a bit worried that something happened to her. I asked again “where’s mom dad?” He didn't reply. I was not happy when I realized he was wearing headphones! I yelled in his ear one more time “where’s mom!!” He finally answered me with a loud “WHAT!?” He was angry and said that he didn't want to make my breakfast anymore. Soon after, dad and mom left to go to the doctor. I was left to clean up the kitchen. As I was taking out the garbage, I realised I forgot to close the door. My new dog, Autumn, bolted out of the door. I was terrified that I was going to get grounded so I dropped the garbage and chased after her!

I thought to myself that I was never going to find her and if I went home without Autumn I was for sure going to get grounded. So I ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore.

I was slowing down and then I came to a sudden stop. I heard rustling in the bushes. It sounded like something big so I took some steps back slowly but surely I got further away and suddenly, the rustling came to a stop. I hadn't known what that thing was or where it went. So I pulled back the bushes and there I saw the best thing in the world, it was Autumn! I was so happy to see her that I jumped with joy.

I was so happy and relieved. But there was a problem. I was lost and I didn’t know where I was so I started to panic. I was totally lost in my thoughts because I was down on my knees and sobbing. A few minutes later it came to me that if I didn’t get home before dark the coyotes would come out and come for me.

First my dad said that if I was playing a trick on him I was in BIG BIG trouble. Since that was not the case he said to me I am so happy that you’re not hurt. He hugged me then he said that Autumn wasn’t in the house and said that she was gone but little did he know that she was right behind me.

He saw Autumns tail. He shoved me over and said “were you hiding her?” I said that I wasn't. After that I told the whole story to him as we walked home.

When we got home I asked if mom was okay? He replied she was not too sick and just needed to rest. When we got home I plopped down on the sofa and I fell right to sleep and that is where my story ends.

Chapter 1 ME

It’s a snowy morning on Monday, November 16 2022. I was thinking of walking to my office at Oculus since I am the CEO. I hate Mondays because it’s the first day of the work week. When I reach the office I will be tired and my legs sore from walking, so I guess I’ll drive the car to the office.

It was so snowy and I could barely drive so that was annoying. When I arrived I met my best friend Jake who always had my back.

A while later, it was my lunch break so I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. Suddenly,a member of staff named Micheal showed up and looked worried and told me that we were running out of key materials to build the newest Oculus VR Headset. I told him to go look for more materials in the warehouse while Jake and I looked for some on the Internet.

The materials that were available were expensive and undurable. So we are going to try to go to see if any investors can help pay for the things we need.

CHAPTER 2 The Fail So we did not get any investors. This is bad because we can't make any more VR headsets. Michael did not find any more materials in the warehouse. It was so stressful. Everyone came up to me complaining about one thing. I bet you can guess. The lack of materials.

It was getting so annoying. I decided to buy more of the expensive and fragile materials just so we could make more VR headsets. I started getting mad because we would be using more money than I wanted to.

We decided to check on Ebay, Amazon and Ace Hardware for the less expensive materials. We looked for a few weeks and failed. This was so frustrating because we could not find any of the less expensive materials!

Chapter 3 Jake

Jake and I looked for 3 weeks and I started to get worried that he could not help me find the materials. I was really worried that I would not be able to build more Oculus VR Headsets. I would let down my employees and how would I be able to pay them if I did not have more product to sell. I thought we should give up.

Until one day on Ebay Jake found some materials but we did not trust the seller. We decided it might be smart to buy only one piece. The seller was suspicious because their username was I_am_not_scammer.

When the materials came, they were dirty, rusty old materials so we decided to report them. At least we got a refund.

Finally, one day we found materials that were cheap and had good reviews , so we bought them. I built them, then Jake asked me if it worked. I had a smile on my face and we celebrated. The materials that I bought were cheaper and durable. So I made the Oculus Quest Pro. Now Oculus is up and running thanks to the help of Jake!

It started with a fright and ended with a prank. It was the night before Halloween and my two brothers Luke and Max told me the scariest story I've ever heard. It was about a girl that lives by herself in a house.

Oh hi my name is Core lervy and I am ten years old and my life is hard. I have two older brothers and a younger sister named Lily so I am the middle kid. Being the middle kid sucks. I get bossed around all day long by my older brothers and get bothered by my little sister. It sucks . OK, back to the story now.

I could not go to bed that night because of the story my brothers told me. I did not know if it was real or fake so I got so scared either way. But I finally got to bed and fell asleep.

The next morning it was Hallowen. I was so excited I had the perfect costume. I was going to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz . Unfortunately, when my mom finally pulled out the costume my little sister poured her juice all over it and I got so mad.

My mom put my costume in the washing machine and it came out brand new. I was so happy my costume was clean again and perfect. But I

I ran upstairs and I got on my costume as quickly as I could and got all of my siblings Max, Luke, and Lilly and ran down stairs to my Mom and I said “come on let's go.” My mom said “hold on missey I am not taking you, your brothers are.”

I was so sad my brothers were taking me and not my mom. My mom was taking my little sister which made me feel better. At least it is one less person tagging along and my little sister is so annoying. I said bye to my Mom and little sister, closed the door with a bang, and started walking down the road .

My brothers and I saw the first house and we knocked on the door and said “trick or treat give me something good to eat”. The lady who answered the door gave us all a big chocolate bar. My eyes glared at the big brown chocolate bar and we said thank you. Right when we walked down the stairs I said to my brothers this house was a score and we kept going house to house until it was pitch black outside.

When we were walking home we saw a house that was dark and deserted. It was creepy and scary but my brothers wanted to go in anyway.

My brothers pretended they did not know how to get home in the pitch black darkness and said they needed to ask for help at the creepy house. I was scared and my brothers said to put on a blindfold so I could not see anything. I put on the blindfold and my brother knocked on the door and it creaked open. My brothers pushed me in! I tried to get out but the door would not budge. I slowly slid down the door crying in tears wanting to go home and to sleep.

I was leaning on the door crying when I saw a little girl, the little girl from the story that my brothers told me. I was so scared I was about to pee my pants. She came closer to me and I ran up the stairs screaming don’t follow me. When I got to the top I was running into a room slamming the door, turning off the lights and going under the bed hearing a banging from the bathroom door, noticing the lights turned on. I got out from under the bed. Then I saw the door opening, seeing my family. They said to me you got PRANKED. I said very funny. That was my halloween.

The New Kid I thought it would be a perfect town. But it wasn't. It was a sunny day in San Francisco, and Maddie was mad at her mom. Their family had just moved to a new town. “Why did we have to move?” Maddie’s mom just ignored her.

She watched her mom who was pouring some coffee into a mug that said, “I heart San Francisco.” Maddie was seventeen. She crossed her arms and glared at her mom. Then, suddenly, Maddie walked out of the door, and with every step she took, her mother laughed. As she opened the door, she smelled fresh leaves blowing through the wind.

A little later, Maddie was at the diner. She ordered some eggs and sat down at the fancy blue table. She thought about her new school. She was nervous. She would be the new kid, and she wouldn’t have friends. Maddie looked at the time. She remembered today was the day she was going to get her driver’s license. When the eggs came, she did not even eat. She paid the man. Then she dashed to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Good thing it was only 2 minutes away.

She ran to the section that said, “Get to drivin, get your license” She walked into the section and then saw Rider standing right in front of her.

Maddie walked right over to the man standing in front of the car. She got in and started the car. She drove pretty slow, but she was doing ok. She went from Maine street all the way to Cherry Lane.

When she drove, she felt like she was flying in the sky. Just then, when She was driving back to Maine, and that's when she thought about her mom. Her mom was just standing there. Was she ok? Maddie thought so much about her mom that she wasn't paying attention.

She quickly got her mom off her mind and focused on the road. She saw a car coming behind her. It was her mom! She wanted to wave, but her hand had to be on the steering wheel. She saw her mom crying. “Mom, are you ok!” Maddie said. “I'm pulling over.”

Before he said anything, Maddie’s heart stopped. Finally, he said “You passed” Maddie leaped up and everything.

A little later, she saw her mom, but she was not crying anymore.

“Mom, why were you crying?” Maddie said. Her mom just sprinted and hugged her, and she wiped the tears off her cheek. Then said, “I'm fine, and I am so proud of you!” Maddie looked over and saw her whole family. “Dad, I thought you had a meeting!” She said, “Mike (her brother), I thought you had a baseball game!” Suddenly she bolted to them and gave them a big hug.

As they were walking to the car, she heard some noise coming from the car. As they opened the door, Maddie saw her dog, Jack. Jack ran to her and jumped on her. She got in the car with Jack on her lap, and while they were driving home some music played on the car radio.

The first minute in the car it was silent. Suddenly they were singing songs and laughing. She loves to sing. Even though Maddie was excited about school, she was still nervous. But she did not think about that. She thought about more important things, like family.

She did not think about school until the next day. She woke up to the sound of an alarm. Maddie got out of bed slowly. Maddie got dressed slowly. She walked like a snail down the stairs. She got in the car, and she drove to school. There were a bunch of kids walking inside the building. She got out of the car nervous , and excited, and a little tired, but she was ready. She walked in the brown, fancy building and felt proud. She saw this girl walking towards her. “Hello I'm Sarah. Are you new?” she said. “Yeah, I'm maddie” Maddie said. Sarah showed her where her class would be. “I just moved here from LA,” said Maddie. Sarah nodded her head in disbelief. “My Mom works there!” Sarah said “since the divorce” Maddie could tell what she was talking about.

“Yeah I know,” she said. Maddie felt bad. Maddie couldn't imagine if that had happened to her. She would have been devastated. She quickly got that off her mind and caught up with Sarah. She looked up to see a glorious hallway to the class.

Maddie’s teacher Ms. Brown invited her with a warm welcome and said “Everyone we have a new student” Maddie walked in with her back hunched infront of her books looking down. It was silent. Maddie thought the day was going well. She made a friend, and she got all of the questions that Sarah asked her correct. It was lunchtime and Maddie took out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with some fruit on the side. She also got a cookie with a letter next to it. The letter said “How is school going! Is it going great! I thought so.”

Suddenly Maddie saw Sarah sitting at the lunch table all by herself.

Maddie felt bad. She walked over to Sarah. Sarah looked up and smiled.

They started to eat lunch together.

Just then, there was a performance. “Who are they?” Maddie asked.

“There is the acting club” Sarah said “They do it for holidays and the first day of school, and the last day of school.”

Once Sarah and Maddie were finished lunch was over. “That show gave me a good laugh,” Maddie said. Sarah shook her head in agreement.

Once they got to the next class their teacher told them . “Sarah and Maddie sit down over there please.” Maddie and Sarah quietly sat down in their seats. A little while later the teacher said “hi my name is Mrs. Ruben.

Today we are going to be working on a story. It shall be a story about whatever you want it to be. But it has to be good.”

As they were all working Maddie could not come up with a story. She thought about what genre. She finally decided on fantasy. It was a little rough at first but then she got on track.

It was the end of the day and she got two pages. She felt happy about that since she never really got that far. She drove all the way home, moving her hips, shaking her head, almost dancing. She opened the door singing. Her parents were fascinated by how her mood completely changed. Even her brother paused the TV. When she stopped she saw everyone staring at her.

Maddie sat down to get her homework done. She was hungry so she got some potato chips. “How was school?” her mom asked. “Oh my god, It was so great!,” Maddie said. Her mom was still confused about how she was this happy. Maddie was so happy she forgot about her test. It was due on Monday. That is only 3 days away. She seemed happy now, but she won't be happy then.

It was the next morning, and Maddie woke up walking in the rain.

Literally. It was raining cats and dogs outside. But Maddie did not mind.

She took her umbrella and got in the car. She turned on the radio, and as she did she saw it was snowing a little. The radio said “Canterbury high school Closed, Sheridan high school closed, Hampton high school closed”.

Once The radio said Hampton, She got out of the car and headed back inside.

“My school is closed” Maddie said “what should I do now!”. Maddie thought about school. Then she thought about the teachers. Then she thought about the essay! She tried to start, but it was like everyone needed her. Whenever Maddie does not want family there right in front of her. And
