Staying in Winchester over the Winter Break?

There are plenty of fun activities in Winchester and surrounding areas over the festive period for you to get involved with!

We’ve put together some local activities, budget-friendly ideas, and tips from students. You’ll also find information about external support while the University is closed.

We hope this guide helps you feel connected, supported and able to make the most of the holidays.

University services during the Winter Break

Student Support and Success will be open from 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (excepting the period from 25 December4 January inclusive, when the University will be closed). If you need assistance or someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Student Journey team. For urgent, out of hours support on campus, please call the Wardens on 01962 826404 or Site Security on 01962 827666.

Winter break is a great time to give back to the community!

Supporting a local cause can also help you meet new people, feel more connected and develop new skills. Over the break, you could volunteer in:

Or help out at a local festive community event!
