The annual Men’s Member-Guest at Union League Liberty Hill is our premier event of the season. We are very excited to host you for what is sure to be an exceptional week of golf and social events. The Cannon is an incredible opportunity for us to showcase the property at Liberty Hill and our exciting plans for the future.
As we enter our sixth season at Liberty Hill, we are eager to share updates around the property. Fairway bunkers renovations have been completed on holes 5, 7, 8, 10, and 15. Additionally, the removal of trees affected by Emerald Ash Boers has opened up beautiful new sight lines, most notably from the 3 green across to the 6 tee. Looking ahead, exciting enhancements are underway across the property. Construction has begun on the Liberty Ballroom expansion, which remains on schedule for completion next spring. Once finished, the space will feature seating for over 400 guests and offer panoramic views of the golf course and Plymouth Meeting. We are also in the final planning stages of adding an outdoor bar connected to the clubhouse fire pit area. This new social space will offer some of the best views on the property perfect for enjoying your favorite beverage while watching friends finish up on the 18th green. rd th

2026 Tournament Rules
USGA rules shall govern all play.
All matches are played at 90% of the course handicap. All strokes will be off of the low ball in the foursome with no more than one shot given per hole.
The competition will be conducted from the Blue Tees for flights 1 & 2, White Tees for flights 3-8, and Green Tees for flights 9 & 10.
Any player that is 70+ years old has the option of moving up a set of tees. This must be communicated with the Professional Staff before Monday, June 15th.
Inclement Weather - Play will be suspended immediately for dangerous situations with an alternating high/low signal of the siren. Play will resume with an intermittent blast of the siren.
In the event the tournament is canceled by poor weather, the Committee shall make a determination based on a fairness, as to awarding the overall winners and flight winners.
Leaving a match early/no show for non emergencies - If a team leaves early in the middle of their match or does not show up for their scheduled match for non-emergency reasons, the following policies will be put in place: The team who leaves early/no shows will be suspended from playing The Cannon for the next two years.
The team that remains in the match, will play the remaining holes against par.
Handicap Differential
Please note that the handicap listed on the upcoming pages may not be your exact handicap index as stated by the GHIN Handicapping System. This event has a limit of 10 strokes difference between partners. Teams with a differential of more than 10 strokes will have the highest handicapped player adjusted to the 10-stroke limit.
Player with No Official Handicap: If a player’s handicap cannot be verified, then the player will play at scratch.

Pace of Play Guidelines
Important Note: To aid with pace of play, please pick up you ball when you are out of the hole and always hit a provisional ball when appropriate. The allotted search time for a ball is 3 minutes before it must be declared lost.
Pace of Play for each 9-hole match will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. Rangers will be on the course to monitor pace of play during the match. The following infractions will occur if your group is deemed to be out of position:
Definition of “Out of Position”
Deemed by the Rules Officials and generally when the foursome is a hole behind the group in front of them.
First Offense: Both teams will receive a verbal warning that they are Out of Position.
Second Offense: Both teams must halve the hole they are playing and skip ahead to the next hole, regardless of the current strokes in the hole.
Local Rules
The Committee will render decisions on the Rules of Golf and the local rules and conditions of the competition listed. The Committee’s decision is final.
For the Committee to consider any doubt or disputed point between players, one of the players must make a timely claim. In most cases, such a claim must be made before any of the players tees off on the next hole once the doubt or dispute arises.
Free relief from interference by sod seams is available, only for lie of ball and area of intended swing (not solely from interference to stance).
Free relief may be taken from areas marked Ground Under Repair, which are marked by WHITE Lines.
Devices which measure distance only (not slope or other variables) are permitted. White stakes designate out of bounds.

Shootout Rules
The shootout will consist of the winners of each flight.
Teams will participate in a one-hole shootout held on the 18 hole, using an alternate shot format. Each team’s handicap will be calculated at 50% of the combined total from the white tees, off of the low handicap team in the shootout Teams will continue in the alternate shot format until the ball is holed. th
The lowest net score on the 18 hole will be crowned Champion. There will be no chip offs. Any ties for lowest net score will replay the hole.
Shootout Order:
- Guests will tee off on the first shootout hole
- Members will play the second shot, followed by guests, etc. until the ball is holed
- If the 18 hole needs to be replayed again, members will tee off first followed by guests th
- The process is repeated until a Champion is decided
If the side decides to play a provisional ball, it must be played by the partner whose turn it is to play the side's next stroke.
Any penalty strokes for the side do not affect the partners' alternating order of play.
We encourage spectators to join us for the final shootout, it is the highlight of the 3-day long event and is sure to create a dramatic finish.
