

The Union League of Philadelphia was founded in 1862 in an effort to support the Union and the policies of President Abraham Lincoln. It has since become the #1 City Club in the Country. The League has evolved from a private dining and event space in Center City, Philadelphia to multiple companion amenities in and around the city as well as on the Jersey Shore. These include The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale in Northeast Philadelphia, Union League National Golf Club outside in Swainton, New Jersey, and Union League Liberty Hill in Lafayette Hill The Union League also has three member dining spaces The Bungalow in Stone Harbor, the Union League Whitebrier in Avalon, and The Union League Guard House in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania
Union League University is the name coined for the Union League's internship program. Founded in 2019 with the intention of elevating the typical internship experience, Union League University provides aspiring professionals with exposure to the many unique operations of the League During your time with the Union League, our Professional Staff will work closely with you to ensure that you are on track to achieving your goals

In 11 years since becoming a part of the League, Torresdale has seen significant improvements to the property including enhanced playing conditions, clubhouse renovations and expansions, construction and the opening of a 9-Hole short course, The Landing, as well as the addition of a state-of-the-art Golf Academy In the coming years, Torresdale will undergo a restoration led by renowned architect Andrew Green
Torresdale features extensive programming for its passionate membership. Offerings include weekly beginner ladies instruction, junior golf camps, clinics for all skill levels and a full slate of tournaments for Men, Ladies and Couples. The tournament schedule is highlighted by Club Championship in August and Member-Guest in September

Union League National Golf Club is wrapping up its eighth season in 2025. The Club has changed significantly since it was acquired by the League in 2018. July of 2022 marked the completion of the 27-hole renovation led by Dana Fry and Jason Straka The ambitious renovation resulted in one of the most unique golf courses in the world In the years to come, National will complete a renovation to the clubhouse and add a permanent halfway house, putting course and short course.
During the summer months, Union League National has become a popular retreat for Union League members vacationing on the Jersey Shore. Programming at National includes weekly instruction for beginner ladies, weekly junior camps, a variety of clinics as well as a full tournament slate for Men and Ladies The season is highlighted by Club Championship in July and Member-Guest in October The Independence Day celebration has also become one of the largest events at the Union League.

Union League Liberty Hill will enter its sixth season in 2026. The expansive property features more than just 18-holes. Additional offerings includes 38 conference rooms in The Summit, a co-working business center, Gather, 120 rooms for overnight accommodations in The Lodge and multiple event spaces The golf course is one of the longest in the section tipping out near 7500 yards The impressive practice facility is equipped with Trackman Range.
Union League Liberty Hill offers extensive programming for Men, Ladies, Juniors, and Couples. The schedule features weekly instruction for beginner ladies, clinics, and junior camps. A full tournament slate is offered for Men and Ladies The tournament season is highlighted with Mens Member-Guest in June and Club Championship in July

Your experience with the Union League will provide you with all that you need to become a well-rounded golf professional As a three-month intern, you will have the unique opportunity to be exposed to three different golf operations between Torresdale, National and Liberty Hill You will work on all facets of the golf operation including outside staff management, event management, instruction and have the opportunity to contribute to the merchandise operation.
Instruction
Assist in all Union League junior golf clinics, camps, and practices Assist in weekly ladies’ clinics and mixed golf schools throughout the season. Assist in any corporate or outside clinics that may occur. Have the opportunity to teach individual private lessons and provide club fittings to our membership. Work closely with an assigned staff member teaching weekly lessons and providing updates at staff meetings.
Event Management
Execute member tournaments and outside events through the use of Golf Genius and Whoosh
Outside Operations
Oversee and lead outside operations team on daily opening and closing procedures. Actively seek and implement new systems to improve our operation Manage pace-of-play by acting as ranger Work closely with the Caddie Master to exceed member and guest expectations
