THE GARAGE TAKES A BOW

WHEN selling a home, an important feature is the simple garage. Undersold and often overlooked, a garage can be transformed into an organized and practical space that makes your household more efficient. Think about it. Of course, a garage shelters cars. However, it provides many other benefits that should be played up if you’re selling your home and you are lucky enough to own one. A garage is a secure environment to store bicycles, lawn mowers, boat gear and sports equipment. It can double as a shelter for outdoor pets, as long as it’s properly ventilated. A garage which connects to a home can serve as a mudroom – a place to leave dirty or wet shoes

and dripping raincoats and umbrellas. And who likes to unload groceries in a tropical downpour when shelter’s available? A garage can host a work station for a hundred small jobs, such as repairing screens, gluing broken china or building a model boat. The work station, in turn, may be used as an arts and crafts centre for children and adults. The possibilities are endless. DON’T LET JUNK RUIN A GOOD THING Unfortunately, garages have a tendency to be used as a catchall, but by getting rid of whatever you don’t need, you’ll be surprised at the amount of space that will open up.
