THE TRIBUNE
In Loving Memory
Rev. Venera
Majorine Johnson August 25, 1942 - August 19, 2025
In Loving Memory Of
Mrs. Florence Eleanor Pedican Sunrise December 13th 1945 Sunset August 19th 20023
It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone A part of us went with you The day God took you home. It tears could build a stairway, and heartaches make a lane, we’d walk our way to heaven, and bring you back again. In life we loved you dearly in death we love you still, in our hearts you hold a place No one could ever fill. Love your children, grand-children and great-grand-children.
IN THE QUIET MOMENTS WHEN THE WORLD SEEMS TO PAUSE, IT’S YOUR LAUGHTER THAT ECHOES IN OUR HEARTS, A MELODY THAT ONCE DANCED THROUGH OUR DAYS, BRINGING JOY AND LIGHT TOEVEN THE MOST MUNDANE MOMENTS. YOUR WORDS, WISE AND COMFORTING, OFFERED GUIDANCE LIKE A LIGHTHOUSE IN THE STORMY SEAS OF LIFE. WE FIND OURSELVES REACHING FOR THEM IN TIMES OF NEED, THEIR ABSENCE A POIGNANT REMINDER OF THE VOID LEFT BEHIND. THOUGH YOU ARE NO LONGER WITH US, YOUR SPIRIT LIVES ON IN THE MEMORIES WE CHERISH, AND YOUR LAUGHTER AND WORDS CONTINUE TO INSPIRE US, WHISPERING THROUGH THE CORRIDORS OF TIME, URGING US TO LIVE FULLY AND LOVE DEEPLY
YOU ARE DEEPLY MISSED, YET FOREVER PRESENT IN THE LEGACY OF LOVE YOU LEFT BEHIND BY YOUR HUSBAND, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN

Card Of
Thanks Rev. DR. A. Shelton higgS The Family of the Late
April 24, 1958 – July 24, 2026
With hearts filled with gratitude, the family of the late Rev. Dr. A. Shelton Higgs wishes to express our deepest and most sincere appreciation to everyone who extended love, sympathy, prayers, and support to us during our time of bereavement. The passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative, pastor, and friend has been an incredibly difficult loss. Yet, throughout this season, we have been deeply comforted by the overwhelming kindness shown to our family. To everyone who called, visited, prayed with us and for us, sent messages, flowers, cards, monetary gifts, food, or other thoughtful expressions of love—thank you. To those who attended or participated in the memorial and funeral services, traveled to be with us, shared words of encouragement, offered a comforting embrace, or simply stood quietly by our side, please know that every gesture was sincerely appreciated. We extend special thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the members and officers of the Bahamas Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention and to the members of New Lively Hope Baptist Church for the tremendous love, prayers, support, and kindness extended to our family. Your presence and unwavering support during this difficult time have meant more to us than words can adequately express. We are also deeply grateful to our family, friends, members of the clergy, colleagues, organizations, and the wider community for surrounding us with such tremendous love and support. While we may not be able to personally acknowledge every individual, no act of kindness went unnoticed. Every prayer, every call, every gift, every visit, and every expression of sympathy helped to carry us through some of our most difficult days. The love and respect shown in honor of Rev. Dr. A. Shelton Higgs has touched our hearts more deeply than words can express. As we continue to grieve his absence and cherish his memory, we pray that God richly blesses each of you for the kindness you have shown our family. From our hearts to yours, thank you for being there when we needed it most. With sincere love and appreciation, The Family of the Late Rev. Dr. A. Shelton Higgs “WELL DONE, THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.” MATTHEW 25:21
