for me, and I have just followed the path he gave me,” she said.

Gabby followed that path to make her debut in the music industry in 2018. The opportunity came to sing lead on the Jesus Remains project, which was an album of praise and worship music produced by her church. Gabby sang lead on the title track “Jesus Remains”.
The project went on to receive several award nominations in the Bahamas and won the ‘Gospel Song of the Year’ award in 2019 at the Elevation Awards.
“I was able to sing the lead track on that album and it was an amazing experience,” she noted.
She has also performed as background vocalist for Bahamian gospel artists Cara T Newton and Oslien Jadorte, as well as international artists Jekalyn Carr and Kelontae Gavin.
Last year, another opportunity presented itself to her when she was asked to record the song “When God Seems Silent”, which was written by Oslien Jadorte.
The song was originally penned after the tragic Chalks Ocean Airways plane crash in December 2015, in which all 18 passengers and two crew members perished. The plane, a 1947 Grumman G-73T Turbine Mallard, was travelling from Florida to Bimini, and most of the passengers were residents of Bimini who were returning home from doing some Christmas shopping.
The message of the song is that even when things seem at their lowest point, God is still there.
Gabby agreed to re-release the song because she thought its message was extremely timely last year, given the struggles people were experiencing not just with the COVID-19 pandemic, but following the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, which slammed into Grand Bahama and Abaco in 2019.
“The message of the song is that even when it seems that God is not there, when it seems that He is silent, He is still there to be a present help in the time of trouble,” she said.
Last Summer, she followed up with second single, “Sure Thing”, which was written by Minister Jalysha Seide.
“She came to me and explained that she had written this song that she thought I would be able to do, and we did,” said Gabby.
“It’s a song that talks about how we can try and depend on people, but they can fail you, but God is always a sure thing and you can always depend on Him.”
Both songs will be part of her new EP, which will also include three other songs.
Gabby describes her style of singing as having a contemporary vibe.
“I have to say though that I really love worship music. That is my thing. So those songs did in a way take me out of my comfort zone a little, but they still are exalting the name of Jesus,” she said.
Gabby hopes people will be uplifted and find comfort in her music, particularly in this season which has been difficult for so many.
“I want to help souls come to the kingdom,” she added.
And looking forward, she says she will let her music follow whatever direction God takes her.
“I am really here to follow His agenda,” she added.
