COQUELIN CORNELIUS ANDERSON, born March 26th 1966. Died at Princess Margaret Hospital February 23rd 2021. Funeral Arrangements will be handled by Freedom to Paradise Memorial Center. Coquelin Cornelius Anderson aka “Coaky” was the seventh child in the line of siblings born to Miss Rowena Anderson ( now deceased) of Deep Creek Eleuthera. He was a cheerful and pleasant individual who fit the mold of Jack of all trades, but in this case, he mastered most. After his schooling at the Primary School in Deep Creek and Preston Albury High School where he graduated at the top of his class, he set about finding the one niche that would hold him. He went to Nassau and enrolled in BTVI where he studied and successfully completed the course to become an electrician. Coaky was good at his job but had a downfall. He was afraid of heights. The job that was offered him involved climbing up so Coakie took the low but safe road and applied to the local board for employment as a landscaper. Coakie loved this job and took great pride in trimming and hedging the grounds of the Post office, roadsides, and the cemetery in Deep Creek. In his spare time, Coakie was the neighborhood barber. He was an ace at this trade, and he loved doing it.
Leslie Horace Anderson Sr. was the 8th of 10 children born to Rowena Anderson (now deceased). In his youth he enjoyed fishing, sailing, and working with his hands. Using his brilliant mind Les pooled all his tools into one belt and became an ACE carpenter. In time he migrated to Nassau where he worked for several construction companies. Finally he branched off and became a self-employed builder. Les loved family. He was blessed with 4 wonderful sons. He did his best to provide for and be a kind and loving father to his sons. He taught them some of what he knew of his trade. Leslie followed the Rastafarian Movement but was always respectful and loyal to his family and friends. He would discuss for hours the things that ‘JAH’ wanted people to do and how families should live. Over the years Les kept what he called his signature look with his dreadlocks falling over his shoulders. In December of 2020 Leslies health began to fail and needed constant doctors care. He lived with his older brothers who assisted him in getting to and from the hospital. Leslie came home for a short time but had to go back to Nassau as his health started to fail. He was taken to the hospital days after he left Eleuthera and quietly slipped away on the 9th of February 2021.
He attended Doctors here and in New Providence. Finally, after experiencing serious problems with breathing and movement he went to hospital in New Providence where he succumbed to death on February 23rd, 2021.
Left to cherish LESLIE memories and mourn his passing are his 4 sons: Leslie Jr., Nicholi, Malachi, and Traevaughn Anderson. Daughter-in-Law: Dania Anderson.
