HELPING

REMINDERS

HOMEOWNERS

From Kathy, your Association Manager

OUR ASSOCIATION OFFICES NOW OFFER MAILBOX REPLACEMENT NUMBERS

Doggy Etiquette This is a friendly reminder to all of our Dog Owners residing in Sterling on the Lake Community Association: Please remember to follow the Community Rules as they pertain to your dog(s). You must always pooper-scoop and clean up after your pet which is essential to the health and beautification of the Community. Dog feces often carry diseases and parasites which put other animals and children at risk. For your convenience, we have several conveniently located “doggy stations” around the Amenities and Park Areas in Sterling on the Lake to help aid in the disposal of your dog’s waste.

Order Yours Today! In an effort to help you complete some of your Home Maintenance tasks, you may order missing mailbox numbers through the Association Activities Office.

Dogs must always be kept on a leash and under the physical control of a responsible person at all times while outdoors or on any part of the Association’s Common Property. We recommend keeping the leash length to 6 feet or less on sidewalks as this will help protect your dog and help our neighbors pass undisturbed. Often the Association receives complaints about dogs who are left outside and allowed to bark at all hours. Please be considerate of your neighbors and the County Noise Ordinances and keep pets inside during evening and early morning hours or during the day if they tend to bark regularly. Again, remember the good neighbor policy and keep in mind that not everyone loves dogs, so it is up to the dog owners to present a dog that is well socialized and under control.

Once you have completed the online form (available under the HOA tab on www.Sterling-Life. com) you will receive a confirmation email and payment instructions within 3-5 business days. Replacement requests will be filled in the order they are received. This offer is available for a limited time only. Order your replacement mailbox numbers today!

Lakes & Trails Tidbits

Scouting the Trails The Lakes and Trails Committee has partnered with our local Boy Scout Troop (Troop #130) to help maintain our community trails. Troop #130 will complete community service projects within Sterling on the Lake to enhance the scout’s advancement opportunities and improve the quality of our lakes and trails. Earlier this year, in April, the BSA troop started a trail walk for trash collection on each trail. This important project will be repeatedly scheduled (quarterly) and will result in less opportunity for trash pollution in our lakes and along our shores. Another partnership project in the works is the (re) painting of the trail bridges. The bridges were repaired earlier this year and now that the new wood has cured, Troop #130 will be on hand to help scrape and paint the bridges. (The Lakes and Trails Committee will evaluate bridge repair/paint on a yearly inspection cycle.) I would like to personally thank the senior leadership of BSA Troop #130 for the time and effort they provide for the scouts. If you are on the trails and see the scouts out doing projects in our community, please stop and thank them for the service they provide to us. We also have an Eagle Scout project in continuation on the trails. Colin Reilly is in the final stages of getting approval for distance markers for our community trails. After the project is completed, anyone using the trails will be able to measure the distant of their travels on the trails. This has been a complex and lengthy process so we are excited to see the final phase getting close to completion. During these projects, some areas of the trails maybe temporarily closed. If a sign is posted, please comply to the notice and make the effort to reroute your walk or run during the closures. Since summer is in full swing and the lake and trail activities are ramping up, a few reminders: • No motorized vehicles on the trails • All resident boats and kayaks are to be registered and SOTL issued number decals displayed on the watercraft • Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) are NOT permitted on our lakes • Pet cleanup is required….no one likes to step in a pet relief zone. • Leave it as you found it – please take your trash with you to the nearest trash receptacle. For those neighbors who conscientiously pick up others’ litter during their walk or run, THANK YOU for your effort to help keep our natural areas free of pollution. That’s it for this time – Work Hard, Play Hard, Be Safe John Swain, Chairperson – Lakes and Trails Committee July/August
