DID You KNOW?

Monthly friendly advice for our Reunion neighbors about covenants issues & guidelines

Good News - In preparation for the shift of accountability from Fieldstone to our own HOA, the responsibility for the protection of covenants regulations is now handled by committee members. If you would like to volunteer to assist with this important aspect of community living please send your interest to: reunioncovenant@gmail.com Party Time – In order to provide safe and logical parking, especially when you are hosting a large group in your home, please ask your guests to park cars on one side of the street. This will avoid road congestion and is sensible for a variety of reasons. Parking on the street is not prohibited in the covenants – it is simply discouraged with two caveats. First, cars should not remain parked on the street for over four hours at a time, and second; cars cannot be parked in such a fashion as to cause a nuisance.

There are still cars parking against traffic. As per the County Sheriff, this is a ticketed offense. Guests, service workers, and residents are at risk of a fine if they are parked on the street against the flow of traffic.

Procedures – Just so you are aware, fines for covenants violations are permitted with a review of this procedure in progress. In the future, residents who do not abide by covenants regulations after receiving a violation letter may be subject to the appropriate fines.

Empty NESTERS CORNER

EMPTY NESTERS’ Let the Good Times Roll On Saturday evening November 19th the Empty Nester group of Reunion Country Club gathered at The Meeting House to “rock” back their memories and “roll” back time to the golden age of American music with their annual Sock Hop event. The members in attendance enjoyed a much anticipated night of dance, sing along and just “grooving” to the rhythms and tunes of the 50s and 60s.

The evening began with the usual social period with appetizers, followed by the enjoyment of a Soda Fountainish “Build you Own Hot Dog Bar”.

DJ Glenn Rush, the Professor of Rock & Roll, then led the group by playing a number of selections from his bountiful collection of Oldie Goldies.

The enthusiastic group in attendance responded with an active dance floor and a room full of smiling faces. Glenn later challenged the memories of the audience

with a round of trivia questions about the music and events of the Rock & Roll era.

The activity was sponsored and hosted by Judy & Don Smith, Barbara & George Hasaka and Liz and Glenn Rush. Many thanks go to the hosts for the organization and planning of the event. Thanks also are due to the members who volunteered to help set up The Meeting House with decorations befitting the Rock & Roll theme of the night. As usual, the cameo appearances of Betty Boop and Marilynn Monroe were greeted with delight.

Prospective members are invited to come to an event, free of charge, to see if there is an interest in joining. The membership is more than just a party club. It has evolved into friendships that provide strong support for one another.

Don't just live in Reunion - Be involved in Reunion!

Our committees work hard to make this neighborhood such a great place to live, but they need your help! The more minds we have tossing around ideas, the better! So come on out, meet some new neighbors, and make a difference in your neighborhood! Please contact the Activities Director for more information about joining any committee.

The Covenants Committee drives throughout the community on a regular basis to help ensure the covenants and restrictions are maintained. The committee’s goal is to work along with neighbors to monitor modifications and violations to uphold the standards and aesthetics of the community.

The Landscape Committee supervises the operations of common grounds landscaper, and monitors all aspects of the neighborhood that involve the environment including the common grounds sprinkler systems, all common area fencing, neighborhood outdoor lighting, neighborhood flags/banners, and any common area lakes, piers, or nature trails. The goal of the committee is assisting the Advisory Committee/Board of Directors in preserving and enhancing the aesthetics of the Association grounds.

The Meeting House Committee oversees all operations of the Association Clubhouse and Recreation building. The responsibilities of the Committee include supervising the operations of these facilities to ensure safe enjoyment for all of the membership at large; and assisting the Advisory Committee/Board of Directors in preserving and enhancing the physical value of these Association facilities.

The Neighborhood Watch Committee plans, investigates, implements, and manages the Reunion Neighborhood Watch Program in conjunction with local law enforcement authorities and with the participation of residents. The goal of the committee is to oversee management of this program and provide feedback to the Advisory Committee on effectiveness, and needs that may arise. It’s Mission Statement: 'The Reunion Neighborhood Watch (RNW) is a group of Reunion residents who work together, and with the Hall County Sheriff's Department, to assure that our neighborhood remains a safe and secure place to live.'

The Pool Committee handles the operations of the pool and associated facilities. The committee will provide advice to the Advisory Committee as it relates to the pool operations. The goal of the committee is to oversee pool management and provide feedback to the Advisory Committee/Board to ensure safe pool enjoyment of all Association members.

The Social Committee provides social events and activities which are geared toward the interest and needs of the entire membership in order to provide a means for allowing members social interchange and formation of neighborhood identification and neighborhood spirit.

The Tennis Committee manages the operations of the community’s tennis courts. The goal of the committee is to ensure safe enjoyment for all of the membership at large and in assisting the Advisory Committee/Board of Directors in preserving and enhancing the courts.

The Welcoming Committee greets new residents into the neighborhood and provides them with basic information regarding the neighborhood and general information about the surrounding areas.

Weather Driving Tips Although we cannot control roadway conditions, we can recognize the hazards of winter weather driving.

Family amily members should discuss and enforce driver safety practices for all drivers in their households households.

Everyone should follow an effective maintenance program for all vehicles vehicles.

All vehicles should have the following systems inspected each season to ensure proper working order:   

  

Visibility Systems: Systems: Inspect all wipers, exterior lights and defrosters (windshield and rear window).

Brakes: Brakes Brakes should provide even and smooth stopping.

Ensure that the brake fluid is at the proper level.

Electrical System: System: Have the ignition system tested.

Make Make sure the battery is properly charging with tight and clean connections connections.

Check that the alternator belt is in good condition with proper tension.

Engine: Engine Inspect all engine systems and ensure at least half tank of gas.

Tires:: Measure for proper tread depth and signs of damage or uneven wear.
