&SPEED, SPIRITS SIMULATORS
Racing History Comes Alive in Dawsonville
Do you love racing? The sights, sounds, and textures of Georgia’s rich racing history can be found in Dawsonville at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.
The history of stock car racing can trace its roots to Dawsonville and its moonshine running past, with pioneers like Raymond Parks helping set the foundation for what would become the NASCAR of today.
Take a deep dive into all facets of the state’s need for speed. From local legend Gober Sosebee dominating the Daytona Beach Road Course to Bill Elliott flying on the high banks of Talladega to much more, the GRHOF is jam-packed with history.
If you have something of a modern taste, the museum can
fill that need too. The newest generation of drivers, such as Dawsonville native Chase Elliott, have displays as well.
And for those who have always wanted to experience the thrill of racing, the GRHOF recently added brand new simulators that will test your skills while also providing realistic driving conditions.
The GRHOF is ever-expanding. Each year, the museum inducts a new Hall of Fame class, honoring accomplished drivers team owners, and other industry legends from the State of Georgia. Wherever your passion for racing lies — local or national — you’ll be sure to learn something new at the GRHOF.

Home to the Lou Sobh Amphitheater, Cumming City Center hosts free weekend concerts throughout the year and has a full lineup already on the books for most Friday and Saturday nights through September.
“We are proud to present the Michael Jackson Experience, featuring the same talented performer from Purple Madness,” said Jennifer Archer, the property manager for Cumming City Center. “Our music lineup will also include Human Clay (a Creed tribute), Cowboy (a Kid Rock tribute), Nashville Nation, and The Brooklyn Boys (a Neil Diamond & Barry Manilow tribute).”
In addition to music, City Center is known for hosting seasonal markets featuring local artisans, the weekly Cumming Farmer’s Market each Saturday, movies and football games at the Lou Sobh Amphitheater and lots of other fun family events.
“Recognizing the diverse interests of our community, we are committed to offering a wide range of experiences,” said Archer.
Visitors can also enjoy the great outdoors with a variety of free exercise classes offered at the amphitheater, including jazzercise, Zumba, yoga and more.
“This year, we’ve partnered with Big Peach to introduce
a Running and Walking group and have expanded our free outdoor yoga offerings with The Heart Studio,” said Archer.
Just behind Tin Cup Grill lies the mini golf course featuring holes inspired by some well-known courses in Georgia and across the nation.
Cumming City Center also features local boutiques including Avenue of the Oaks, Lily Rose Co., Pieces and Peaches, Roxy Moxy and TopKnotch. A men’s clothing store, Rugged Refined, opened in 2024.
