• The University of North Georgia (UNG) Mike Cottrell College of Business will have a new home in 2022, thanks to a second $10 million gift from its namesake benefactor and $2.3 million in state funds. The building will be called the Cottrell Center for Business, Technology and Innovation and located on UNG's Dahlonega Campus. Leadership Hall County's Public Safety Day began with Chief Jay Parrish and the Gainesville Police Department discussing DUI Awareness and showing a Criminal Investigations demonstration and a Firearms Simulation Training. Sheriff Gerald Couch and the Hall County Sheriff's Office provided a demonstration by the SWAT team, a tour of the Hall County Jail, and a presentation by the MANS unit on drugs and gangs. Special Agent Cliff Tippens with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was the keynote speaker of the day on Elder Abuse Signs and Prevention.

The Honorable Judge John G. Breakfield provided opening remarks during the Annual Law Lunch recognizing our local law leaders.
