The Greater Hall Chamber's Annual Membership Campaign was a great success. Over 50 volunteers competed in the drive to bring in 100 new members! The top ranking team, ‘Team #1’ was lead by Erin Langford, HTI Employment Solutions, with teammates, Morgan House, Lake Lanier Olympic Venue; Terry Merck, American Yazaki Corp; Shelley Davis, Meg Nivens and Kemie West, Greater Hall Chamber. Volunteers are the Chamber's Backbone In the last month, a high-energy group of volunteers worked to make the Greater Hall Chamber an even more dynamic force in the community by inviting fellow business owners and associates to join. Our volunteer sales force included plant managers, small business owners, realtors and a professional kayaker! I applaud the time and support the dozens of volunteers gave making this year's campaign a success with over 100 new members. Volunteers are the backbone of the Chamber, and working under the direction of our professional staff, make the Greater Hall Chamber one of the best in the state.

Most Fit Company Awards presented at HealthSmart Breakfast

Established in 1994, Kipper employs 42 people and designs and manufactures custom tool kits for business, industry and government agencies and is a certified DrugFree Workplace. As part of its workplace wellness program, Kipper sponsors a company-wide Health Fair annually and has a Safety Training Walking Trail in their warehouse to encourage employee exercise and fitness. Companysponsored teams walked the equivalent mileage of walking to Sochi (site of the Winter Olympics) with incentives for teams. The teams walked a total of 3,612 miles! All Kipper employees participated in Humana's "Vitality Wellness Program” and a company team participated in Challenged Child's 5K and co-sponsored a Blood Drive for companies and employers located on Murphy Boulevard. Georgia Chair held a 100th anniversary celebration in October including the announcement of an international trade agreement with Merjas Business Holding in Saudi Arabia. Georgia Chair employs 48 and provides furniture for schools, libraries, businesses and homes.

The company, founded in 1914, is one of the last remaining manufacturers of solid oak school furniture in the United States, and all products are currently made at the Industrial Boulevard facility in Gainesville. Only materials from the USA are used for furniture confirming that Georgia Chair was green long before green was popular! The new partnership with Merjas will create 100+ manufacturing jobs in Georgia and another 150+ jobs for women in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Saudi Women’s Empowerment Movement. “We are very proud of our long heritage,” said President Harry Bagwell, a third-generation leader of Georgia Chair. “At this milestone, we reaffirm the company’s founding values of making quality-made furniture and continue to build strong relationships within the Gainesville community and throughout the world." georgiachair.com

Sapa Americas holds an annual "Health & Safety Day" where the entire company and all 25 Americas plants cease/ modify production for a day, inviting various vendors (suppliers, local healthcare providers, community services) and local dignitaries to participate. The Chamber's 6th Annual Industry Appreciation Luncheon is Thursday, November 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattahoochee Country Club with awards honoring area existing industry leaders. State Senator Butch Miller will be the keynote speaker.

The Industry of the Year Awards program is presented by Lanier Technical College and sponsored by AT&T, Liberty Utilities and Rushton & Company. The awards honor area existing industries based on economic impact, workforce excellence and corporate responsibility. Moore’s Wealth Management Holds 4th Annual Senior Prom Kyle Moore, Morgan Peterson, Mark & Liz Peterson, Scott & Carla Moore, Chris Moore, Sierra Wheeler, Brian Moore Moore’s Wealth Management’s Annual Client Appreciation Event was held on October 4, 2014 at the beautiful Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville, Georgia. The theme for the Senior Prom event this year was “Music of the Night” from The Phantom of The Opera classic, which was attended by over 200 clients and their guests. Many of them danced to the tunes of the 1950’s-80’s, performed flawlessly by the band “Terry Lee and the GT’s”. In addition, during dinner, the attendees enjoyed Comedian Scott Frances who has performed for many Fortune 500 companies, had all enjoying his wonderful sense of humor from his fantastic show. A key traditional feature of the event was the crowning of the 2014 Moore’s Wealth Management King and Queen of Prom, awarded to the client who was responsible for the most referrals to the firm over the last 12 months. Georgia State Senator Butch Miller speaks to The Wisdom Project class as part of the Government Program in October.
