There may not be any exploding bombs of blue paint nor pink clouds of chalk falling from the sky, but the Best of Hall 2018 magazine is without doubt the year’s biggest reveal party. Our third year of asking area residents to identify the businesses and individuals they consider to be the Best of Hall generated more excitement than ever, with winners named in 282 different categories. Each year the nomination and selection process picks up more momentum and generates more excitement, as area residents take to their keyboards to recognize local entities for exemplary levels of service and commitment to customer satisfaction. For this year’s competition, the 4,500 of you who participated in the nomination process gave us 1,700 names for inclusion on the digital ballot. Those names then garnered more than 50,000 votes in the process to select winners in each category. Some of those chosen as Best of Hall are familiar names that have been winners in the past, while others are being recognized with the honor for the first time. Winners in the annual competition will soon be displaying window clings and plaques acknowledging their first place finishes. We hope you will look for those and congratulate the winners as you patronize their businesses. If you don’t’ see your favorite local company in the winner’s list this year, make sure you nominate them next time and then vote to help them win the recognition they deserve. Jaemor Farms opened their market in 1981. The main products grown during growing season are strawberries, peaches, blackberries, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, bunch grapes, green beans, okra, muscadines, apples, sweet corn and pumpkins. Other fruits and vegetables are available depending on the season. We source these items as local as possible. We also have more than 150 jarred products to choose from and a bakery. Our main services in addition to farming and having our roadside farm market, our family operates several festivals. In May, strawberry; August, peach; and in fall we have a corn maze. Atlanta Highway Seafood Market has been known to draw quite a crowd with its Cajun- and Asian-inspired dishes. Owner Phuong Le was raised in Biloxi, Mississippi and has always enjoyed fresh seafood and great cajun/creole cooking. With the desire to bring that taste and fresh seafood from the Gulf to the people of North Georgia, he opened Atlanta Highway Seafood Market in 2008. The business started as a fish market and grew into a restaurant to serve walk-ins as well as diners. Fresh seafood is brought in at least 4 times a week, to always ensure freshness.
