Fort Pierce Mayor Gets Free Concert
Free For Me, But Not For Thee...
Concern has been raised after Fort Pierce Mayor Linda Hudson is gifted a free classical piano concert at her home. According to sources, Uriel Natero, who performed at the Pineapple Playhouse on Nov. 18, later went to the mayor’s home for a private performance for her family and friends.
Natero told Pineapple Playhouse board members that the mayor asked him to perform a free concert in her home if she attended his show at the theatre. This incident has some concerned about a possible ethic’s violation, with some residents calling for an investigation into the matter.
The mayor has not responded to the allegations, but the debate is ongoing on the importance of maintaining ethical standards in the public domain. Public officials should be held to a high standard of how they conduct themselves. Breeching public trust can have severe consequences.

Mayor of Fort Pierce Claims City is Safe Amidst Controversy
Ethics So Flexible, They Could Be In The Circus Doing Acrobats...

In a recent turn of events, Linda Hudson, the mayor of Fort Pierce, finds herself at the center of controversy as she boldly claims that the city is safe. However, questions arise as she utilized police protection as she attended a classical piano performance at the Pineapple Playhouse. She was accompanied by a Lieutenant from the Fort Pierce Police Department. The Lieutenant told Pineapple Playhouse Vice-President Rick Reed that he was “ordered” to escort the mayor to the private event while on duty.
Mayor Hudson has been a vocal advocate for the city’s safety, stating that “Our city is so safe.” However, her decision to employ a police officer as a bodyguard contradicts her statement and suggests she is concerned about her safety. Critics ask why if the city is truly secure, why would such precautions be unnecessary for public officials?
Mayor Linda Hudson, the leader of Fort Pierce, has been vocal about the city’s safety in various public statements. She reassures residents that Fort Pierce is a secure community, emphasizing the efforts of local law enforcement in maintaining peace and order. However, recent events seem to challenge the credibility of these claims. Fort Pierce Police Chief Diane HobleyBurney recently told her Police Advisory Committee, “Aggravated assaults are on the rise.” Rick Reed addressed the city commission about the
mayor’s unethical use of a police officer as a personal bodyguard on November 20, 2023. Commissioner Nick Mimms called Reed to inform him that he had not known about the situation. Reed questioned why the mayor would feel the need to use a police officer for personal protection at the Pineapple Playhouse as the theatre has never had any problems.
Adding fuel to the controversy is the unfortunate incident involving U.S. Congressman Brian Mast. His wife’s minivan, parked in Fort Pierce, fell victim to a brazen theft as all four wheels were stolen. This incident occurred not long after the mayor’s claims of the city’s safety, prompting residents to question the effectiveness

of local law enforcement.
The community is expressing growing concern over the apparent disparity between the mayor’s assurances and the reality on the ground. Residents are questioning the effectiveness of safety measures and whether the recent incidents reflect a larger issue with security in Fort Pierce.

Turmoil in St. Lucie County School Board:
St. Lucie County has been shaken by recent events within its school board, culminating in the resignation of the law firm Sniffen and Spellman and a change in leadership. Troy Ingersoll, a prominent school board member, is at the center of the controversy that led to the departure of the board attorneys and his subsequent removal as board chair. The fallout resulted in the election of Debbie Hawley to take over the leadership role.
The turmoil began when Troy Ingersoll’s actions raised concerns among fellow school board members, Jennifer Richardson and Dr. Donna Mills. Hawley immediately upon being named Board Chair opened discussion on searching for a new board attorney while Richardson stated, “Before I can move on, I need to know what happened, what forced their resignation”. Dr. Mills was concerned with the board being open with the community about what happened.
In the wake of the board attorney’s resignation, the St. Lucie County School Board took swift action to address the situation. In a special meeting, members voted to remove Troy Ingersoll from his position as board chair. The decision reflects the board’s commitment to maintaining a harmonious and functional working environment for the benefit of the community and the education system.
As the community seeks answers and clarity regarding the circumstances that led to the resignation of the board attorney and the removal of Troy Ingersoll as board chair, there are calls for transparency. Richardson has accused Ingersoll of forcing the board attorney’s resignation when he sent a letter on Sept. 14 without discussion or approval from the board. Dr. Mills stated she had no idea about the letter and questioned why Ingersoll implied that it was sent on behalf of the board. Dr. Mills stated, “As a board member, I should not be left in the dark”. Ingersoll shared the letter with the board 3 days after sending it to the law firm.
During the Nov. 14 meeting Richardson made a motion to table the matter until Ingersoll provided answers for his actions. While Dr. Mills supported the motion, Jack Kelly expressed a lack of confidence in the law firm’s ability to represent the school district if a

letter was able to intimidate them. Dr. Mills stated, “I’m not going to go along with something that was done wrong, and this was done unjustly”.
Timeline:
Sept. 14, 2023- Ingersoll sends the letter to Sniffen and Spellman
October 2, 2023- The law firm sent a letter to the school board stating “We emerge committed to continuing to serve as the school board’s legal counsel.
October 3, 2023- The law firm sent the school board notice that they would terminate their legal representation contract.
October 10, 2023- During the school board meeting, Dr. Mills claimed that Ingersoll mistreated the law firm by recommending that they be terminated without explanation by the board.
November 14, 2023- Ingersoll was replaced as board chair.
Troy Ingersoll’s Actions Lead to Resignation and Leadership Change
‘The Dish’ obtained a copy of the letter through a public records request. In the letter, Ingersoll writes, “At the regularly scheduled School Board meeting on Oct. 10, 2023, I intend to bring to a vote, the nonrenewal of the legal representation agreement.” Some local members of the community are questioning if Ingersoll’s email violated Florida’s Sunshine Law, which prohibits public board members from discussing business in written communication, including email.
“Ingersoll misused his position as Chairman by misrepresenting the school board and intimidating their attorney into resigning”, community activist and owner of Sweetie’s Diner, Rick Reed said. “He didn’t tell the board he was doing it and now he is not explaining his actions to the public”.
