Welcome to Wheels and Wings Saturday, September 8 For well over 30 years, Osceola has been proudly showing off its airport during the all-day community celebration, affectionately named Wheels and Wings. This year will prove to be one of our finest! Come out to the Osceola Airport and spend the day with us for a full venue of family fun, Classic Cars, Hot Rods, Vintage Airplanes, Radar Run, and Airshow… all with FREE admission!

Fly-in or drive-in before 8am to watch the arrivals of the World War II B-25 Bomber and the North American AT-6 Texans. Enjoy our renowned pancake breakfast beginning at 8am as hundreds of our local pilots fly in for breakfast. Our little river town has enjoyed an ever-increasing number of entries to its Classic Car Show. Featuring well over 750 cars and attended by many car clubs, the car show will be complete with a motorcycle show and an award ceremony beginning at 12:30.

We have a spectacular Airshow lineup. The Wissota Jumpers parachute team will present our Nations Colors high overhead at 11am. Our action packed, 90-minute airshow will feature the WWII B-25 Mitchell Bomber, the North American AT-6 Texans, Grant Neilson and Eric Edgren Acrobatic routines, National airshow performer Gene Soucy in his “Show Cat”, finished off by an exhilarating 4-ship Vanguard Squadron acrobatic formation performance.

Directly following the airshow, our Osceola Lions will host the Radar Run demonstration. This is definitely the “Fan Favorite” as it requires audience participation! Drivers will smoke down the runway looking to take home year-long bragging rights. This year, Bernards Northtown Dodge and Johnson Motors have agreed to wage the “Battle of the Brands” in a full public display of Dodge vs. Chevy; and will shoot it out in the quarter mile to prove who really is faster.

Our Wheels and Wings organization has worked hard to ensure a full day of comfortable and entertaining family fun.

There will be several shuttle busses running between general parking and show center. A bus will be run all day from downtown Osceola to the airport. Additionally, we have added several more food vendors to better serve our attendees.

Lastly, the Commemorative Air Force will have their B-25 Bomber available for cockpit tours and living history flights.

To close out the day, all eyes will look to the skies as the helicopter hovers high overhead. The Osceola Lions will drop hundreds of golf balls from over 200 feet. The lucky winner with their golf ball closest to the pin will go home with a HUGE amount of cash winnings. So, come out and enjoy the day with us, and don’t forget to buy a golf ball from the Lions Club.

Saturday, Sept. 8 Car and Motorcycle Show Starting at 9 a.m.

Enjoy all your favorite cars and trucks—amazing antiques, vintage, muscle cars, classics and more— and motorcycles too!

The show is FREE to spectators. Registration is just $10 per vehicle, with dash plaques for the first 800 vehicles! This year’s show will be run by Stardust Car Shows, with trophies for the top vehicle in each class.

Radar Run – A Need for Speed Starting at 1 p.m.

Drivers are able to test their cars’ or motorcycle’s top speed and time at a quarter mile after a brief parade on the taxiway. Experts will also be on hand to provide commentary on the vehicles participating and maybe even on the local drivers too! Please be sure to register online at wheelswings.com as space is very limited for this very popular event.

Air Show – Man Was Meant to Fly 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Kid Zone - open all day This year’s Kid Zone will continue on the theme - a place to learn, create, and play! Imagination Playground, Mobile Discovery STREAM trailer, books, train table, Legos, tech tent and new this year- Tachi’s Bouncing Houses - the Tropical Water Slide for just plain fun.

The Mobile Discovery STREAM is teeming with tech toys for kids to explore. Learn about green screen technology, build with LEGOS, or kick back and play a video game. Also, visitors can tap into their creative genius and make a treasure to bring home and show their friends.

Imagination Playground is an innovative playground equipment system that transforms any space into a play space that encourages learning, social development, movement, and above all- fun. With Imagination Playground blocks, kids build a new world every day.

Because the Imagination Playground is child-directed and open-ended, it encourages self-expression through deep, joyful play.
