The decline· and ,fall of ROGERSLAND
little kingdom of Rogersland was situated
In a region whloh was bordared on one side by a great river. Hence, becausa of the climate, It was subject to storms , which were of such Intensity thst many nomadS and wanderIng people were forced to take refuge Inside the castle walls from time to time. Onesui:h was the man kAOwn to many as a man of many adjectives and few verbs, He was forced one day to take refuge In Rogersland due to a violent storm: snd thus, to pay for his room and board he would amsze and astound the populace of the kingdom with word tricks. This became well known throughout the kingdom to such an elltent that the wandering enlgme master, as he came to be called, finally came to the attention of the king, Hence, the king of Rogersland summoned the enigma master to his court In the hall of the ancients. When he arrived, he was led through a Isrge oaken door Into a cavernous hallway festooned with banners and various trophies of the victories and key events of the many generations of the Chosen Ones who had passed the Final Test, Although the flill of the ancients was situated In the largest room of the castle, due to the dlnlnesa of the, 1,Ight given off by the few age; encrusted candles on the walls of the hall, the passageway seemed strangely smaller than it was, At the far end of the hall of the ancients was a large Ironstudded wooden door, situated behind the dais of the king, which gave access to the room which held the riches of the kingdom. This room was under the control of the Keepers of the Wealth who kept a jealous hold on the rules for membership to their select fraternity.
The day the conundrum man was summoned to the hall olthe ancients, the king wss holding an audience with the serfs, princes, and Chosan One who hsd come to beg the kings mercy In various cases Involving their families, Isnds, etc The king held these audiences with his subjects every other Ilhurry so as, to have a kingdom better governed. Unfortunately, the method the king used In the audiences was the very thing that was the precurser to the fall of the ilingdom. That Is, the king heard the many cries and pless of the serfs In a strangely majestic sense which was toiiilly out of style with the normal bearingof the king. Although this fact was little known to the general populace of the kingdom, It wes well known to the klng's private servants. When the enigma master finally gave a performance ,of his skills before the king and the rest of the court, the king was so taken with his ability that the king offered to pay for his room and board as long as the wandering enigma master would work for the king by using his skills to keep the decisions of the king seemingly Unfathomable to the Wise Men end Chosen Ones. This offer' of ihe king's, the logogram master jumped at, due to his seemingly neverending hunger.,., Hence, he became a member of"tlie klng's court and was known ever afterwards as the Court Jester. Once the Court Jester became' entrenched In Rogersland no one was able to criticize or second guess him without Incurring the wrath of the king on himself. 'rhls wes an Important period In' the history of Rogersland, as Cashmere noted when reading the progress of Rogersland, since (Cont. on pg. 3, col. 4)

The Juniors swept to the InM terclass Football title Wednes day, as they beat the seniors, 6 0, and the sophomores In a Round Robin
In the '78 vs '79 game, the Juniors capitalized on an onslde opening kickoff, which Paul Kotran recovered on the senior 40 yard line, and scored on a pass from Joe Zahuta to Dan McMahon. The rest of the 20 minute mini-game was scoreless as the senior defense, led by D.E. Art Harper, stopped the Junior offense cold. However, the seniors were unable to generate any offense either as Bob Torre's passes were just a blJ off the mark, due to a fine rush applied by the junior defensive line. As a result of this fine rush, Jim Thomas's excellent pass patterns went to waste, sinoe every time he dropped back to throw, Torre had to get rid of the ball quickly 1
In the second game, both : teams were unable to move the I ball with any kind of conslsten- I cy. The juniors, blending some I fine passing by Joe Zahuta, with great running, moved the ball down the field forthe only score of the game about midway through the 20 minutes. They capped the drive on a 20 yard pass from Zahuta to McMahon, and Steve Grandlnall's extra point made the score 7-0. The sophomores, responded with a
defensive lineman Dean Constantine, and, quarterback Joe "Clark Kent" Zahuta.
For the' seniors, .Art Harper played a fine game at Defensive End, while Jim Thomas gave, the junior, secondary trouble from. his split-end position. 'Soph stars Included Steve larcara at blockin'g back and linebacker, and Chris Jarani· at center and defensive end.·
drive ,of their own, as Steve Carcara ,and Rick Gobellle came up with good catches of Pat Caramante aerials and Caramante scrambled for more yardage. However, with first and goal from the 30, the Junior defense rose to the occasion and the, drive stopped. Standouts for the Juniors were receivers MbMahon, Pete Tymus, and Tom Massoud, .
