Welcome to your SHSocial Application

Hello Spartans and welcome to your SHSocial Web Show application. I know applications are a long and lengthy process, but believe me, making an application is no walk in the park either. Here’s the deal, below, there is a checklist of the things you need to get turned into Mrs. Cummons, who will give it to us. In about two weeks after your application has been submitted, or at our earliest convenience, we will send you an email. That’s right folks, we use emails. We don’t care how 90’s that makes us. We will expect for you to return our email within 2 DAYS. A late reply will hinder your acceptance so don’t mess up. Good luck, if you have any question, find an out of the box way to answer it yourself. A big part of being on the staff is problem solving and meeting deadlines under pressure.

Step Two:

WHAT JOB ARE YOU INTERESTED IN? Because this is a small staff, everyone must be able to do a little bit of everything, but we want everyone to have a job. This upcoming year, we would like a staff of 5 people. Having three this year, means we had to do A LOT of work in a little bit of time. So, we have decided to make it easier by putting you in your best fit position. Highlight the job you’re most interested in ​yellow​, highlight your second choice in ​blue​. The choices are: Host or Hostess: This is someone who is comfortable in front of the camera, is not shy, and is open to being put in ridiculous situations. This has to be someone entertaining and capable in improv.

Camera Man: This is someone who can use camera’s, phone’s, and has a good understanding of angles. This person has to know how to focus a camera, fix lighting, and capture the most entertaining moments. The Cameraman must also know how to export high resolution videos and get them on the Google Drive.

Editor: This may be one of the most technologically advanced jobs. This person has to be VERY good with iMovie. This is someone who knows how to edit quickly and skillfully. Remember, most of the laughs we get is not from the material as much as the editing and music added.

Composer: The Composer is someone who is very adept at GarageBand. This is someone who can make many tracks that suit the video and can find music suitable for the theme of the video.

Assistant: The assistant is VERY important. If someone is absent, this is the person that steps in their spot. This is also a job that is open to everything.

You have to know how to export your videos and edit, make music, interview, etc. This is also the person that writes the Copyrights and Music Rights in the description of all the YouTube videos. This is insanely important because videos have been deleted in the past due to Copyright issues.

Congratulations! You have completed your written application. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you’re not finished yet. The application process has just begun. Being on the SHSocial staff is not as easy as it appears, so we expect the people that take over our staff to be the best of the best. Expect an email within two weeks stating your next assignment.
