El Regalo de Dar 2020

PARTE I:

PART I:

NOVEMBER 24 & 25,2020 Last Tuesday November 24, 2020 with the help of the chef Kiara Lacen I experienced one of the most gratifying days of my life. We had the opportunity to hand deliver uncooked groceries to two shelters for homeless children. One of these shelters is in Arecibo and the other one, we had to drive all the way to Adjuntas. During the trip, I disclosed to chef Lacen that when I was in high school, I used to do community service for a lot of children’s shelters. However, it was not until now that I realized the true meaning of helping someone who needs it more than me. For those of you who do not know, most of these shelters are not receiving the funds that the government is supposed to give them. Thanks to the people in charge of these shelters and to people like us that take the initiative to help them is what keeps these shelters operating. During November 25,2020, the other Yunque Crew members took on the responsibility to delivery cooked food to homeless & also, children’s shelters. It was a complete success, and all our team members took away from this a satisfying experience. However, we are not over with “El Regalo de Dar 2020” just yet; on December 21,2020 we are going for Round 2. This round consists of the delivery of uncooked groceries and hand-picked toys by the children in homeless shelters. We still need a lot of help getting the toys that the children ask for. So PLEASE, help us help the children so they can have a wonderful Christmas. I promise that you are not going to regret this ever. Stay tuned for more publication or updates on El Regalo de Dar 2020. As I mention in the beginning this experience was really gratifying and unique, because there is no better feeling in the world than knowing that you help someone who needed it more than you. Even though it was not an easy task coordinating the chefs, defining quantity of groceries that we needed donated, among other things, the important thing is that at the end of the day everybody pulled through and we managed to comply with our first goal.
