HE wife of slain chieftain of Islamic State-inspired Maute group that overran Marawi City was arrested by authorities Sunday morning.

A police report identified the arrested wife of Omar Maute as Minhati Madrais, also known as “Baby,” an Indonesian national. Madrais was with her six children— four girls and two boys—when she was arrested at 8017 Steele Makers Village in Tubod, Iligan City, at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The children were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. No further details were provided, and it was unclear whether Madrais was the same wife that the slain terrorist leader was with when they both underwent training in Jordan in 2012.
