S THE country marks its 128th Independence Day, Malacañang allayed concerns over alleged destabilization efforts against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. amid continued political unrest. The Palace said the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) remains united, professional, and committed to its constitutional mandate despite rumors of discontent within the military. This came after Senator Panfilo Lacson raised concerns about reports of dissatisfaction among some AFP personnel that could allegedly fuel efforts to destabilize the Marcos Jr. administration.

deaths, followed by South Cotabato with 15, Davao Occidental with 11, and Davao del Sur with one.
