Baduria goes for broke vs. Jones in last career URCC fight

WIN or lose, Caloy “The Bad Boy” Baduria will definitely retire for good after his main event middleweight bout against unbeaten Mariano “The Hitman” Jones in the Universal Reality Combat Championship 86 on Tuesday at the Palace in Xylo in BGC.

But the 43-year-old fighter from Northern Samar promised to make his last fight a memorable farewell retirement bout from the sport he has loved since 2003, hoping to give the Costa Rican warrior a great fight.

“I want a good experience out of my last fight. It’s another challenge for me. But win or lose, I will be retiring for good,” Baduria said during the URCC 86 fight news conference recently in BGC. “My opponent is young and hungry, but I will give my best to give him a good fight.” tantalizingly close during the late Boybits Victoria’s finals hurrah against the Benny Cheng led-Cardinals in 1991. The Red Lions then lost the game and the title in the last five seconds of the game. San Beda managed to return to the finals twice, in 1996 and 1997, but lost both to the San Sebastian Stags.
