PAO reminds traders to abide by retail law

THE Public Attorney’s Office (PA0) warns commercial establishments against misleading the buying public on the retail price of consumer goods as set by Republic Act 10909

During its weekly #PALA program, PAO chief Persida Acosta reminded business owners to put a price tag on anything that is being bought and sold.

A price tag is any device written, printed, affixed or attached to an article for sale, or displayed in a consumer retail or service establishment to indicate its retail price.

“If a business operator fails to do so, he or she may face the corresponding penalties, suspension or revocation of the permit to operate,” she said. Rio N. Araja

The event will highlight the city’s vibrant fashion industry and rich cultural heritage, with a focus on Filipino artistry and craftsmanship, the mayor said.

Jinggoy cites relevance of seafarers’ measure

PASSAGE of the proposed Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers has become timely and relevant in light of the near banning of Filipino seamen by European Union-flagged vessels, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada said on Friday.

Estrada said the measure will ensure the clear and coordinated fulfillment of mandates of the concerned government agencies.

This will also improve the services given by the government to Filipino seafarers and facilitate the proper implementation of the proposed law, Estrada said.
