Most Filipinos can’t find jobs—SWS

SURVEY says most Filipino workers find it hard to land a job nowadays.

The Social Weather Station (SWS) survey during the first quarter of the year showed that 69 percent of adult Filipinos are having difficulty looking for jobs these days.

The SWS study indicated that only 11 percent said “finding a job is easy these days,” while 16 percent were undecided, while four percent had no idea at all and said “I don’t know.”

According to the SWS, looking for a job has always been difficult since 2011. However, 50 percent of the Filipino workforce are optimistic that there would be more job opportunities available in the next 12 months.

Only 10 percent believed otherwise, while 26 percent said they expected no changes. Again, 14 percent said they don’t know.

“Since 2009, except during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Filipinos have been more optimistic about job availability,” the SWS said.
