PAGCOR cancels CGC accreditation

THE Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has canceled the accreditation of offshore gaming customer relations service provider CGC Technologies Inc. (CGC).

The cancellation of CGC’s accreditation came barely a week after PAGCOR issued a stern warning to its offshore gaming licensees and its accredited service providers who are involved in illegal activities.

Investigations confirm that CGC, an accredited service provider operating under offshore gaming licensee Oriental Game Limited, was involved in criminal activities thus warranting the cancellation of its accreditation. It was also found that CGC violated some of the conditions attached to its accreditation.

Review EPIRA Act, Ejercito tells solons

SENATOR Joseph Victor “JV”

Ejercito on Wednesday has called for a review of Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), citing its failure to bring down electricity rates across the country.

He said the privatization of energy companies failed to promote competition, which was expected to push down the price of electricity across the board.

“The intention was really to encourage competition and bring down the prices of electricity,” he said.

“What happened, the Napocor privatization of power plants, including the transmission, proceeded,” the senator said.

Vargas pushes CDC measure passage

QUEZON City Rep. Patrick Michael Vargas on Wednesday called for the immediate passage into law the Creation of the Philippine Centers for Disease Prevention and Control, emphasizing the lurking threat of Covid strains and other human viruses.

Vargas, one of the legislators who has been very active in extending help since day one of Covid-19, said, “Together with my brother, former Congressman Alfred Vargas, we serve as witnesses to the pain and suffering of our people during the height of pandemic. Filipinos will really find it hard to afford yet another wave of incalculable impacts in our health systems and economies. We cannot be caught off guard this time and better be prepared to protect our communities against communicable and non-communicable diseases.”
